Would suggest you call in a good local engineer to look at it for you.
You could try the repairs@ feature to see if we list an engineer in your locality.Specialist01269
ParticipantRe: Electrolux fan Oven EOB5630 keeps cutting out
Hi: The fan element should be at the back of the oven where the fan is. As for your original problem, I did tell you to check the Element with a multimeter first to see if it was open circuit. Would suggest that this is done before ordering a new 1,, throwing parts at an appliance without checking first is a waste of your hard earned.

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint WMA63 Chopper board resistor failure
In all honesty mate you really would be better off biting the bullet & either sending the board to a repairer such as EMW or buying a new board, 2 fried resistors may not be your only problem. Just make sure that you’ve found & rectified all shorts before re-fitting.

Before long the punters will be too scared to buy new kit, there’s so many appliances doing this sort of thing.
Manufacturer sending the machine back to customer? what sort of customer care is that. If they actually told the woman the Vac was still safe to use it’s disgusting, can you imagine a small independent doing this? TS would be all over them like a rash.Specialist01269

😯 Surely you can use your charm to get a coffee at every call. 😆
John.It is the hours driving between calls that I struggle with 😆 …
And when I have my catering engineer hat on, I see too many things to ensure I prefer making my own 😯No argument from me there, I rarely accept a cuppa from any customer but especially not in a lot of commercial kitchens I go into, Yuk.

Geeze, carrying that lot to every Job you should have called yourself Garth 😆 But I know where your coming from, when I was working in London I used to do the same with my kit.
What I carry now: Non contact tester, Dmm, Megger & Loop testers.
Pliers, cutters, snipe nose, bent snipe nose, Corbin pliers, Slip joint pliers, Pump pliers & 8″ shifter.
Neon, set of Insulated drivers, Large driver, set Hex keys, set Torx bits, T10/15/20 Torx drivers, Stubby Flat & No2.
5-13mm Nutdrivers & handle, 8-19mm short Combi spanners, 13mm Ratchet spanner, Stanley knife, Capacitor discharger, Mini maglite.
Comm stick, small Half round file, 2 Short Jump leads, Extending Mirror.
Tape, Fuses, Connectors & Cable ties.Apart from the test gear, it all fits neatly in a 16″ box & gets me through the majority of things. All the heavy stuff stays in the 4×4 until needed.

Hi Dave: Take a look at http://www.appliantology.org they’ll be able to tell you more about this machine than I ever will & you may be able to get a CCT or Manual from them. What sort of fuses does this machine use? take it they’re soldered on to the pcb.
Have posted a manual request on there for you.Specialist01269

Don’t forget, they are made in China and they still use a lot of stuff that the West stopped using long ago. One of the sales guys from China that was over last year was trying to plug brand new chest freezers with R12 😉
.
If that’s the case then I owe the guy an appology, & everyone a warning.
When Selenium get’s overheated it gives off Selenium Dioxide & you don’t want to be around when it does, apart from a serious stench of rotting Garlic it causes Severe irritation to the Eyes, Skin & Respiratory tract & when breathed in can cause Severe burns to the Mucous membranes.
There were still Selenium stacks in use when I started in the Electronics trade & I only got caught by a burning stack once, believe me that was enough. I was off work for days after it.Jim you have my appologies, as far as I knew we stopped useing it in this country due to the above & I never for 1 minute thought it would be allowed to be used in any appliance, imported or not.

Hi Jim: If as he’s stated he is a Fire Investigator, I would’nt have thought he would have problems getting hold of the Manuals or information. I know Police Forensic departments don’t & I have to be honest the fact that he asked about something that was so out of date makes me wary.
