Lucky Bugger, that’s a lovely area to work. Cycle Museum is a good place to visit too.
    I’m jealous now 🙂

Hi: As johnsdad & r600a have stated above it’s probably due to a Faulty Defrost Heater & the only cure is to replace the unit.

r600a sells the parts you need as listed in his reply, just contact him and he will tell you exactly what you need.
If you don’t fancy doing the job yourself, you may want to take a look at the UKWG repairs@ feature to see if we list an Engineer in your area.

Mate: If I called them what I usually call them, Ken would ban me from the Forum. 😆

Look for simple things first, such as cleaning & re-seating all board connectors & motor connector. When the interlock switches in are any of the lights on the front coming on?

Now ther’es me begining to think you were saying we were spouting, Bull***t, Told you I was having a bad week. Personally I just normally “Politely” show them the door if in the workshop. If in customers house I don’t normally listen to them, just sort of say Hmm, yes, no, from time to time.
Trait I learned when dealing with Mastercare customers.

Hi Dave: The only sites I can find for MW059 parts are either in the US or Australia, for the Control board & Pump you would be looking at about £190.00 plus carriage from Australia. Your right mate, it may be time to cut your losses if you can’t find any other causes. Control board alone works out over £100 plus carriage.

If removing any wiring, make sure you make a note beforehand of exactly where it all goes including colours. It can save a lot of heartache when trying to put things back together.

PLEASE REMEMBER: POWER OFF & PLUG OUT before delving in, getting :zap: can seriously ruin your day.

Hi: Just been told by an American friend in the trade that a common problem they have with these machines is that water leaks onto the pump & shorts it out & blows the controller. Repair is to find & seal leak, then replace pump & controller.

Hope that’s of some help: Andy

Yes mate all elements can be tested for continuity with a Multimeter, the trick is not to look for a specific resistance but to make sure that you have continuity across the connecting terminals. If you have a Multimeter where you can set the resistance range manually, set to something like the 200R range. You should also check from each terminal to the Earth tag & this should show a very high or preferably open circuit on the highest resistance range of a Multimeter, Appliance engineers normally carry out this test with a Megger at 500volts.

Ah Paul I think you missed the point of the question mate, it was’nt what do you take with you in the van or stock you carry. It was what Tools do you carry in to every Job in your carry in box.

Have to be fair looking at the picture again, it does look as if the flames start in mid air & the bottom of the “Flames” is very flat.
