ParticipantRe: Zannussi FJS 1225 W Pump issue?
If you remove the filter & look into the pump with a small torch you may see whats obstructing the pump & be able to remove it from there. If not you will possibly need to remove the pump to clear the obstruction, also check that there is no damage ot the pump impellor. If the pump is damaged you should be able to find a replacement at the UKWG shop@ feature.
Please remember: POWER OFF & PLUG OUT BEFORE delving in, getting :zap: will seriously ruin your day.

You would need to take that up with them before booking, just 1 thing to be aware of: If someone gives you a free estimate, you will normally be paying in the cost of the repair anyway. None of us work for free, we are in Business to make money.

Check connector J4 on main PCB, check NTC it should be about 500 Kilohms at room temp (20 deg) when checked at the NTC with the wires disconnected, Check for faulty wiring between J4 & the NTC, If NTC shows out of spec replace with correct type NTC, as Jim said 2 types available & they are definately not interchangeable, if all of the above checks out Replace main control PCB.

Yep Neil 9.5 or 9.6 depends whether you decide to round up or down, with Ohms law as long as you know 2 of the values you can quickly work out the third.
Nice job Ken, that looks an Excellent Ohms law calculator.

Or get the big hammer out 😆 Cheers for the reply mate. I tried putting the machine into different cycles while I was there but each time all I got was the correct lights lighting up.
Looking forward to fitting the dry element & watching something else die on me, Hey Ho nothing new with Hotpoint.Specialist01269

Hi Neil: If you buy a good clamp that has Decent Voltage, Resistance, Capacitance & Temp Ranges as well you can leave your DMM in the van & just use the clamp, you don’t have to pay a fortune for 1. Both Ideal & Uni-T make some nice clamps at good prices.

Hi: As I said previously, unless the element is checked you won’t know that this will cure the problem. That was why I suggested calling an Engineer to look at it for you, that way the engineer can test the cooker to find out exactly what is causing your problem & possibly save you money.

Hi: Unfortunately it’s not really possible to give you a price for the job, there is no set fee & what may cost for example £45.00 in one area may cost £60.00 in another.
Also you need to be aware that a lot of Engineers will not fit parts that you’ve bought yourself.
Before buying parts it would be a good idea to call a reputable local engineer to check the appliance as there are several possible causes of your problem.
You could try the UKWG repairs@ feature to see if we list an Engineer in your area.Specialist01269

Hi Neil: If your looking to buy a clamp meter, take a look on Fleabay. There’s a lot of them on there including a few open jaw, the Draper open jaw is on at the minute for £24.99. Has been selling for £49.00 with a few of them.

Excellent piece of kit for Fault finding on appliances & if you buy a good 1 saves carrying a Multimeter as well. If your thinking of buying a clamp meter you need to stear clear of the cheapies, they won’t last long in every day use. For more convenience you could buy 1 with an open jaw.
If you take a look at somewhere like http://www.cpc.co.uk they do a fair selection at good prices. -
