Re: Hotpoint tdc62 dryer loud and no heat?

Hi: Get your Dad to check the stats for continuity, it’s quite easy to damage the stats when changing them by pressing on the bottom of them.
If the Stats are OK then you need to check the Element / s for continuity.
By the way where was the leak on your original machine?

Re: Hotpoint tdc62 dryer loud and no heat?

Hi: If the only thing that’s faulty is the Stats then you would have no heat, not a loud noise. to find out if your problem is Bearings or Motor you need to remove the drive belt from the motor & run the machine for a short period. If the noise is gone then you need to be looking towards the tub/bearings, if the noise is still there then it looks like you have a Motor problem.
Don’t run for more than a minute or two, if the Motor is the problem they can get quite hot.
Do you have access to a Multimeter?

Please remember: POWER OFF & PLUG OUT BEFORE delving in, getting :zap: can seriously ruin your day.

Hi Naz: Have you taken a look at the UKWG repairs@ feature too see if we list an Engineer local to you?
Could you give us your area / postcode so any of the engineers that cover your engineer can let you know.

Hi Mike: Capacitors don’t as such go intermittent, what you often find though is that 1 of the connecting legs goes dry joint to the PCB or becomes loose inside the case.

The small Brown switches are normally the MCB’s, as you said the 2 Red switches are normally your main isolators in a Split load consumer unit, which from your description sounds like what you have in your property.
If it is throwing the Blue RCD / RCBO then you have an Earth fault.
Do you have access to a Good Multimeter or Preferably an Insulation tester & know how to use them? If not then please leave well alone & call a local Engineer.

Remember: POWER OFF & PLUG OUT, BEFORE delving in. Getting :zap: will ruin your day.

Unfortunately without seeing the appliance & assessing it, I seriously doubt any engineer would be able to give you an idea of the cost involved.

Hi: I’m sorry but we don’t give repair information for Gas appliances, to have your appliance repaired please contact your local Gas Safe registered repairer or see the UKWG repairs@ feature to see if we list a Gas Safe Engineer in your area.

Re: Parkinson Cowan cooker – main oven not working, rest nor

Hi: As it’s a Gas appliance we are not allowed to give out any repair information on it, your best bet would be to either contact a local appliance engineer who is Gas Safe registered or check the UKWG repairs@ section to see if we list a Gas Safe engineer in your area.
