    Thanks for your help.
Apart from the controls it’s basically the same set up as fdw 60 etc.Relay is on neutral side of heater then?

If there is enough of a stub you could connect a softer pipe onto the old stub, perhaps some gaffer type tape.Don’t bother with the u bend.

Can you put another pic up of directly above where that pic was taken.Possibly one which shows the complete motor area.
Could be dripping from ice somewhere above or could be the defrost water leaking/overflowing.
Does that grey corrugated pipe drain water to an evaporator tray?

    Re: Compressor sizing

With a 180ltr fridge and 110 ltr freezer capacity I’m using a 6th compressor, still slightly oversize so will see how it goes.
All brazed lines so OK on that one.
Would it be worth setting up a compressor comparison section so info can
    swopped.

clemm wrote:my fridge freezer isnt working correctly, the fridge is ok, changed the thermostat as linked out and compreesor ran all the time.
what isnt working correctly is the freezer.
top compartment in freezer is cold with ice forming.
will keep things cold when iced, but wont freeze items in the freezer.
there is a thermostat near the compressor motor in a white plastic box.
removed the power to this removing from circuit.
so no thermostat control to freezer but still does not freeze items.
compressor is running being controlled with the fridge thermostat.
what is the problem why freezer not freezing goods.
    please help

Could be loss of refrigerant or poor compressor performance, either way not diy,an engineer would be needed.

They are normally on a continuous cycle so if there is no action check the bin stat as it shuts everything down when the bin is full.

Before the advent of plastic a “Fray Bentos” sliced beef tin was almost an exact replica of the manufactures original.
I have some new ones I could send you one but there will be plenty of fridges around waiting for the crusher with a decent one on,try the local tip.

Sorry,it should be on it’s way(was sitting in the outbox),looking at the parts list that is the thermal fuse. Also check that the ducting that the filter pushes down in is clear.

Sent you some stuff. It it’s got two blue wires to it then if that failed it prevents the motor relay starting the whole cycle off.
Fan loose on shaft is a probability for the cause.

Some older models have one on the air duct at the rear also.

Also it starts via an induction type relay which is built into the motor. Can get choked up with fluff etc ,cleaning and lubrication helps.

Close relative with 3 children paying £500 a day for accommodation and food (he is in mauritius, not the worse place to be),he can get £200 per day back from insurance, argument is that you wouldn’t be eating or accommodated free if you were back home, there is a cost .
Tough under the circumstances but as is often said on this board, nothing in life is free.

    Mike.

Very difficult on LG boards as they cover them in that solid jelly like gungy stuff.(I’m sure there must be a technical name for it)
It is the board,10 year old machine so BER, the board is immersed in a solid silicone/shellac type material.

Thanks for your suggestion, the door does lock and stays locked after the error code comes up so I didn’t think there was a mechanical issue with the door lock, worth a second check perhaps though.
