    OK,if the motor(compressor) is cold to the touch then it’s likely the thermostat.
    You will need a meter/avo to establish if the thermostat is open circuit/failed.

    Can y ou hear the compressor running ?if you can it’s a system fault,likely refrigerant loss.
    Is it silent ? if it is, possibly thermostat failed which would be a cheaper and viable repair.
    Unplug always.

    Well Incontinenta Buttocks didn’t turn as bad as was expected,second job of the day after calling on “the Queens Champion” ( a retired lt colonel whose family are responsible for protecting the honour of the Queen,an absolute gent!)was to the festering residue which had been fermenting for 3 days 8O.
    Again great folks so no problem in the end.

    Many moons ago used to look after the machines at Butlins when they were running their nappy service,was like tear gas working in there on a warm day.

    Bloming washing basket will be filling up by the time I get there Friday,surgical gloves,mask,overalls and he’ll get a hefty bill for this one.

    Must be my lucky month,call from pensioner saying his machine won’t empty but he blames himself as he washed his incontinece pants and they have blocked it up

    Sounds like you have either a slight refrigerant loss or a poor performing compressor,you can search here for your nearest engineer.

    Model number will encourage those who may be able to help.
    In the meantime unload freezer and switch off for a minimum of 24 hours with doors open to allow the ice to melt,not just what you can see, there will be a build up behind the freezer panel.
    It may happen again,could be an electricl fault/failure of a part, if so you will need a meter and enough knowledge to be able to test components.
