UNPLUG first, take off the bottom front cover, two screws hold it at the top and then you have to lever up the bottom edge with a screwdriver, you may have to take the decor/wooden door off to get to the screws,it can be done with the door fully open but there isn’t much room to get under it.
The timer sits at the bottom LH corner, lots of wires going to it,there is a short 1/4 ” shaft on the timer with a star screwdriver shape fitting in the end ,on this shaft is a small arrow, turn the shaft clockwise which will click until the arrow is at 12 0 clock, then try your machine again.
There may be a possibilty that a safety thermostat may have operated so if it doesn’t heat when you test it you will need further advice.

They passed over the Humber and had their passports stamped and will have a Yorkshire accent in no time. 🙂
Sad in some respects after having them 25 years but they have gone to a good home so chuffed alround. 😀
Just have a crater the size of a garage to fill in and landscape 😯spimps

We had bought them whilst out from a retailer, home base, probably 20 miles away so it was easier to complain to philips via email.
Pays to shop local eh 😕May 15, 2009 at 5:01 pm in reply to: Dishwasher failing to pump out after washing up liquid in #286821spimps

It might help if you pour a couple of pints of water into it and then put on cold rins/drain,you may have to do thi several times to flush soap out.Even a crushed dishwasher tablet in the water might help as they have a suds suppresant.
Did the suds meet you at the front door ? 🙂spimps

That’s easy to get around. Just buy three more (you’re going to need to anyway right?) then send the dud ones back in the new packaging… when you get the replacements remember to keep the packaging from them for future use.
Not ideal I know, but if they’re creating hurdles for you, then you may as well find a way around them.
I posted them back without packing and they replaced to be fair.spimps
ParticipantRe: Has qualtex inmproved on their bosch brushes?
Probably habit with me,was using com sticks on motors late 60’s Hoover etc and Lux vac motors and still do.
Use gen and pattern brushes, always put a small chamfer on the edge in case there is a slight groove in the comm although they don’t seem to wear like they did.spimps

Heard some of it,it’s likely to be on iplayer in 24hours or so.
I always think that it’s driven by pricing ie build the machine as cheaply as poss so it naturalyy fails earlier and earlier and that deliberate obsolescence is not the case but after listening to some of it I am probably wrong.

ParticipantRe: hotpoint rla33 thermostat
Always feel the liner first it’s fine on the htpt, although not alwways the case, it’s the thermostat phial location tube on this one has come away, gaffer tape would have done a better job when manufactured :rolls: write off,not this one.
On the Santos the evap is 1/2″ forward from the back of the fridge so no problem there either.

ParticipantRe: APM 6316 fridge not working
Unplug vefore attempting any adjustments
Can you hear the compfessor running?it’s the black dome looking device at the rear, carefully see if it is hot,it may be very hot so careful.
If it is hot and it’s not cooling it isn’t your thermostat, might be too exoensive, however if it’s cold but everything is switched on it is likely it is your thermostat.
Love your pasties 🙂 -
