Re: Smeg CR330SE Drain tube blocked

There is sometimes a drain heater embedded in the channel and drain hole but not sure on this one,the drain tube is just a plastic insert through the foam usually.Always open the hole through the tube whilst I’m clearing them.

Check the fulcrum pins that hold the suspension legs top and bottom, wear can make them noisey.

Re: Bosch SGS55C02GB – any good?

As good as anything around without paying “Miele money”.
Question is do you pay £1000ish for a miele or £250ish for a cheapo or in between somewhere,it’s difficult to be sure of the advice you give in this age of cheaply built appliances.
Manufactures don’t build much at all of the parts they assemble, pumps, valves, pcb’s are all bought in to their spec, put together and and given the manufacture’s name .
Only time will tell how good it is 😉
Wondered what’s the fault with your current Miele?

Do you have any idea how much both the elements are?
A trick is to pop them in a friends oven and “cook” them for 40 minutes or so a@180C this MAY expell the moisture so you can check with the meter again and may be able to rescue them for use.

    Re: Hotpoint 7821 Dishwasher

Hopefully someone else will contribute but as I remember these the water that is left in the side chamber is held for regeneration and is released later on in the prog to back wash the resin with the brine solution and is seperate to the fill water.
There is no pressuire other than atmospheric to allow the water from the float chanber to flow through into the sump, once it is in the float chamber it is at atmospheric, there is a delay whilst it flows through into the sump and drops the float switch again for the following fills, all sump hoses should be removed and cleaned as arestriction in these could prevent the equlisation of the level and prevent dropping the float switch.
These also had a bye pass for setting to the water hardness so that some water flowed directly into the chamber as well as that which went in via the float chamber.
The float switch mech should be clean and free moving and also check that float itself has no water in it.
Its ispossibly more important to check the hoses that go from the float chamber to the sump for blockages as the supply hoses.

    Re: Hotpoint 7821 Dishwasher

I would then remove and clean all hoses fitted to the sump etc they become gunged and don’t let the water through to the wash chamber, couple of towels and tip it over on it’s side for access.

Re: New World NW60: glass in door broken

It does happen now and again ,maybe due to a chip in the glass sometime, not really designed for resting utensils on but people often do.
Follow the instructions on how to remove door and then have a look for screw which secure the two halves together matbe two or four screw,
The inner door glass is often bonded to the inner door frame (mostly) so you would need the inner door assembly, some are secured by a screw either side of the glass.Easy enough to do either if you are reasonably competent .

    Re: commercial machines

The other thing to think about is that commercial laundry parts are really expensive,if you have an account most suppliers will give you 30 days, unfortunately it’s more difficult to get customers paying within 30 days you can end up with a lot of money out. Best to collect straight away but not always easy as businesses often expect to be invoiced afterwards. You can do decent business as the manufacture’s cost a lot to call so a cheaper option will aleays be popular.
A lot of the laundertte owners seem to do a repairs themselves,I haven’t done laundrettes, mostly nursing homes and liesure places although not so many nursing homes around now but more liesure facilities.
If you can mange to sales and installations too it’s a decent return plus you usually do the warranty stuff yourself.
Another decent area to go for if you have a good holiday trade around are commercial glasswashers and dishwashers, commercial ones are arguably simpler than domestic.

You could ring JLA who are near Halifax and supply their own brand, Ipso’s and Maytags.

    Armstrong’s

supply,Speedqueens,Hubesch and one or two others.
I’m sure if you contact both hey will help you,ask for their techinical bod who will point you in the right direction.

Re: Installing of HYGENA APL3120 built in single oven

Just another thought ,it could also mean there is an earth fault ie leak to earth when the element is tested with a megger which could have sent the rcd trip out.
If the oven has been stored some where for a while the oven elements do tend to absorb damp and then will set an rcd trip off. They can be dried out sometimes but it’s not always 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}.

    Re: commercial machines

The free standing commercials.top loaders like the Maytag’s,Speedqueens are a very simple machine,no heaters and a direct drive gearbox and would be a relatively simple job for a competent white goods engineer.Same style as Whirlpool top loaders but a heavier build, usually token operated.
Rigid mount top loaders are different in that they are on 30amp or 3 phase supply and are bolted down to a concrete bed.
Again easier than you think, earlier stuff using similar timers to domestic but the timer operaters contactors which switch motors and heaters etc, current ones are on pcb’s but still operating contactors.Manuals are usually more readily available than the domestic ones.
