Check out the damper motor, it’s the usual cause for this symptom.

We have done a handful of jobs for them, albeit a few years ago now. They were a decent company to deal with then, but can’t comment on what they are like now.

Hi, at that sort of age, I would hazzard a guess that it’s the Inverter and magnetron that will need replacing, if thats the case it would work out quite expensive to repair, there is a small possibility that it could be the damper motor/cam that has failed, which would be a cheaper repair, either way,you should under no circumstances attempt to look at it yourself.

It really depends on the original motor, if it was the very early kind, you need to replace the fan as well as the pcb, the new pcb is a conversion and works with a magnetic fan. The other option is to replace the motor with the new copse motor, but you also have to replace knob, new style module, lead and cover.

We had a cheque through for a couple of hundred quid, but that was for jobs invoiced to them for D&G policies. Apart from that we’ve heard diddly squat from them.

Hi,this is what Martin was good enough to tell me when I asked the same question.
Open the door and you’ll see on the underneath of the fascia panel 3 (from memory?) clip cut outs. First ease these lugs upwards and outwards. I use a knife blade between the fascia and front door panel. Likewise a knifeblade at both sides of the fascia once you’ve pushed in the retaining latches (again 3 I recall?) that run along the top of the fascia and under the metal top fixing bracket.
Basically the whole fascia is just a push fit on reassembly so a bit of TLC with the use of a Swiss Army Knife is all that’s required to lift it off!
It worked a treat!!

Thanks guys, had a feeling that was what the problem could be. I completely agree about the technology, why make things so difficult!!.

Went out to one today 720EF, had a door switch on the top door. It’s a microswitch on the r/h/s of the oven that makes/breaks on the top oven door arm. Im not sure if there are a big difference in variations of product no’ 😕 .

I’ve had one of these that had a loose reg. shaft, it turned out to be burnt wiring on the door switch.
