    Thanks for the replies.
I will make a note for when it fails again.

Just to add, the stat also has terminals 3,4 and 6 in use. 6 being the light switch I believe.

It is definitely worth checking the fuse on the board. If the inverter has failed, that has most likely blown the fuse.

I would be having a close look at the Magnetron and inverter/power module.
Check the Magnetron for an earth fault, also remove it and check that the magnets are intact and check the condition of the antenna. If it all appears fine, then the likely cause will be the Inverter.

There may be a label on the chassis of the oven. You would need the remove the oven from the housing to check.

The white/red wires go together on one side of the element and the white/black goes on the other side.

I recently waited a week for an order to arrive.
When I chased it, the new system was blamed. They could see that it was awaiting dispatch and that they would try to get it sent as soon as possible!

Thanks Dave. The specs all look the same, so it must be something like the shaft length that is different.

    Hi,

the most likely cause is the Magnetron and inverter. Remove the magnetron and inspect for any damage, cracked magnets or burnt antenna. Also highly likely a fault on the inverter board.

Just to give an update to this one.
I managed to speak to someone in BSH Technical and he immediately knew what the cause of the fault was and he advised me to replace the NTC repair set part number 12027485. He told me to make sure I fit all the parts supplied, which was a modified mounting bracket and new NTC and that has solved the problem.

One thing I will say is that the oven was switched off whilst I was putting it back together and back in the housing. Turned the power back on, set the clock and the fans were not on.
I was packing my tools away and loading the van up and said goodbye to the customer (space of around 5-10 mins) and then all of a sudden the fans sprung in to life!!
