    Re: Hoover Six Range

Insulation faults on heaters causing strange faults definitely isn’t new. Must see one at least once a fortnight. Colin must have been lucky never to of had one till now. When i first started out i was changing heaters daily on the hoover new wave range.

    Re: Hoover HSW110M Pressure sw!

Never had to change a pressure switch on this range. Normally pin hole in pressure tube, which i know you have checked. Have had new machines where the pressure switch isn’t clicked together properly. A ty-wrap around the switch does the trick. (take door seal off front lip and tip back machine, this should give you better access.)

Thanks for that Chris. Went to call this morning and fitted triple valve, 168985. Fits nice and seems to be ok. (elimination of flushing hose already carried out by hotpoint 6 months ago). Hope you have dryed off.

Thanks for that but unfortunately connects price is £54 😯 ,whereas the complete timer is £48. What should 180544 really cost??? And where can i source it from???

    Re: hotpoint wd440

The wd440 i saw, with the modified valve, had the old type heater box. I actually changed the heater box to the new type because the old heater had failed. So hotpoint shouldn’t have isolated the flushing valve without changing the heater box?

(My heater box had no valve modification sheet with it)

    Re: RCD tripping house mains?

Had a job the other day where, when the washing machine was turned on, the house tripped out. No fault on machine itself. The electrician found a fault on the shower which was feeding through the washing machine-socket. This was happening even when the shower was off. 😕

A cause of this is the seal between the inner drum and the bearing plate can fall apart. Thus the moisture leaks out into the shell of the machine and through the bottom grills. If you were to take apart the dryer you would generally find the seal laying in the bottom of the machine. Drum removed through front, many screws, in-depth procedure.

Hoover/Candy do a small suppressor, part number unknown. Fits model tv630, d7610. (connect stock it as well as the whirlpool one your after) This would require you re-crimping the ends with appropriate spade connectors. (the hoover suppressor is £3 ish whereas the whirlpool is £20 ish).

Can’t you fit a universal suppressor?

I have used hotpoint 1602026 instead of hoover 91201546. Make sure you seal it in for added security. 💡

Not seen this model before, but this sort of fault normally indicates a flooded base. Safety switch operating the drain pump.

Have you checked the heater? Low insulation can cause such faults?

    Re: Bosch wff1800 washer

Universal valve fitted, machine now ok. Just filed two grooves in shell of machine to allow screws to line up with screw threads of valve. £3 valve instead of a £25 one, always a good result.

    Cheers 😀

    Re: Leaking Hoover/Candy

Sometimes the outer tub bolts loosen. Re-tightening can be enough to stop leak. On a few i have just applied silicone sealant to the outer tub joint, a bit awkward to do but better than removing tub.

Check first that the dispenser hose hasn’t got a hole in it or that it is water tight on tub.(it can leak when machine is spinning).
