Re: WMA 30 prewash light flashing

    Update;

even though valve was ok when i tested it, i decided to change it, this cured the fault.

Maybe the motor got wet when he was changing the pump? I would have thought if the board is good and the wiring is ok it can only be the motor. Are you sure he hasn’t messed around with the wiring, both on the motor and the board? He probably wouldn’t admit it anyway.

Re: Hoover AM120:Ghost in the machine!

A thought….Can’t you just disconnect the wiring to the hot valve. I think this machine just runs on cold unless you do the boil wash??????

Re: Hoover AM120:Ghost in the machine!

This is quite a common fault on the new servis machines, module every time. (Triac fault). I assume if you put the hot valve wires onto the cold valve the cold valve energises? The only other odd faults I’ve had on this type of machine have been due to low heater insulation and pump coil shorted. Have you checked the resistance of the pump rather than continuity?

Had a quick look at the model before disposal, but didn’t jot it down, could be the same as what you listed. Certainly began with a 7.
Being only 32 years old i was certainly in short trousers when this machine was produced!!!!!!!!!

    Re: Samsung J1253 Quality?

Do some in-guarantee work for Samsung. Generally find them ok. Normal problem are noisy drain pumps. Occasionally loose connections. Very occasionally board faults. Nothing you wouldn’t get on any other machine. Seem to get alot of machine for a small price, plus a two year guarantee.

Had same fault today. Door locked light flashing. Changed door interlock, still the same fault, thought oh dear module blown, module visually looked ok so tried new door handle and hook kit, problem solved. Door handle, hook, spring all looked 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}, but obviously weren’t.

Power to valve????Check blockage in sump hose. Check the water level microswitch. And press the red float down thus disengaging safety microswitch.

    Re: HOOVER MODULE

Do you mean board part number 91200606? If this is the one, why not just carry a board as a spare and just slave it in place whilst testing the faulty machine. The board is only £28.00 new. These boards normally give no drum action or one direction only faults. You can get the motor to full spin by making a fly lead up and plugging it into the mains. Never had the main timer on early SIX machines give motor action faults.

    Re: HOTPOINT WD 69

You say the knob is turning, so the knob is definitely turning the shaft? take knob off and turn dryer timer shaft with pliers to be sure.

Never had ‘no dryer’ operation on the WD range. I too would start with changing the dryer timer before wash timer.

Have you checked the dryer knob is actually turning the timer shaft. The knobs quite often break and just spin on the shaft.

Re: Hoover HW6316MUK Spins on wash

On the previous hoover range, which is similar in design to this newer type, spinning on wash was normally due to the motor. Have you checked the insulation of the motor?

From the few of these newer type washer dryers I have seen I thought the bottom module was for controlling the dryer?

Definitely the two big white resistors , very common fault, available from connect they are called dropper resistors.(80 pence each). 10 minute job.

    Greg,

Could you possibly e-mail me the in-depth diagnosis.
I have got exactly the same model with the same fault tomorrow.

    Thanks in advance.
