    Re: 1st 4 Service

They sent out an email ages ago saying they dropped the Argos work as it wasn’t working financially for them or us…

I get the odd Rangemaster job.

They emailed this week saying there was another accounts problem so late payment again.

The one I saw of these that was the same symptoms as yours I put down to the ‘heat pump’ side of things. Charged for my time in checking it over as nothing more I could do with it.

As stated they do naturally run at a very low temperature.

Re: Important Changes To Engineer Search

I realise why changes cant be easily made & I do appreciate the search facility.
My concern is the site would lose credence if the general public try a couple of numbers and they don’t exist or are unobtainable. They may give up by the time an active repairer is found.

Same as Martin. A few in my area haven’t existed for years & I have previously reported that.
    Nice changes!!!

Note that the heater/motor unit can be replace by just removing the front wooden door & the metal front panel behind the kitchen plinth.
Generally there are 2 red wires & an earth wire to the heater which when unplugged is very easy to test continuity. POWER OFF / UNPLUG MACHINE.

I assume you raised the point that the old machine looked the same.
I know its easy to forget when your dashing around but I try always to point the obvious out before starting the job.

I doubt anything that dramatic happened.
You’ve got two options, leave everything as it is if you want the chance of the machine replicating the fault or change the mains filter as a precautionary measure.
    Your call.
    This should be the correct part;

I would be hesitant to strip it down, you may waste a lot of time doing that & cause other problems.
You need an insulation tester to be able to check it effectively.
Until that can be done I would pop the fuse out of the spur or ideally leave the machine unplugged to prevent you worrying…

Change the heater first. Make sure its the genuine version which comes with the NTC.
