Yes top section of description is normal behaviour.

The bottom half of your description is generally caused by the hose at the bottom of the condenser becoming blocked. A very awkward hose to get to but can be done in situ. Swearing & plasters required!

I think this is a condenser dryer. Get her to clean condenser.

Remove the salt cap and make sure the plastic nut underneath the salt cap is nice and tight. You may have disturbed it in your efforts to check things?? If it isn’t tight water leaks into the base and activates the safety float.

A lot of it comes down to the fact that people have zero money. The stress of not having a single penny drives them to this. It is the only way of getting something essential fixed. The amount if people I go to who say they don’t have £50 or £60 until the next pay day. Its scary!

Did you take the door off to have a look at the door switch & wiring?

Assuming the readings are good? And the heater insulation is OK. And there are no broken wires. Then it will be the module.

Is this the model with the two stats screwed into the under side of the tub? Or is it the model which needs an extra pint of water to switch the heater on? (Pressure switch issue)

Nice job. Every part off, every part back on. Give yourself
plenty of space to lay it all out in order. Do make sure you get the top 3 tub springs in the right order and hooked into the correct lug.

Child lock? Download the manual to check for that model.
Normally holding the start button for 10 seconds gets rid of it??

I bet there never was another company involved, she was just after a free diagnosis so she could fix it herself. It would be interesting to see the other companies invoice, not that its relevant to the situation.
