    Re: Hotpoint FWD80 no motor

I think your spot on with your diagnosis. If your listen carefully you would normally hear a hum from the motor as it tries to turn.

Not to bad a job. Go armed with a few jubilee clamps. As you sometimes cant resuse the old oetiker type ones.
(The thinner the clamps band the better.)

I find laying the dishwasher on its side is best but make sure you put a few towels down to catch any water.

Some machines have a pressure switch / flow switch near the motor. (Not the same as a water level pressure switch.)

    Does your one? It could be something like this part at connect;
    5045174120531

If the switch dosen’t activate it won’t supply power to the heater.

If you look above the heater. Thats your NTC. It senses the water temperature.

Yank on the two wires I bet one or both come away from the NTC.

Crimp on two new spade connectors, and Bobs your uncle!

    Cheers fella’s.

Very good point about the VTD00.

    🙂

Had one last year where it had drilled through the bearing and the shaft was lathed to the shape of nice chess piece. The customer said it hadn’t been noisy. :rolls:

But she picked up on the occasional scrape after I had changed shaft, bearing & belt.

Access to retaining screw through sump hose / hole.

Locate and slide back to lock in place.

    Hopefully I will be coming?

    Tim Downing.

P.s. I dropped by your way yesterday to drop in a raffle prize but your unit was all locked up. If I can’t make the meeting what do you want me to do with it?

Have you been back to this machine then? Or are you still going on the previous visit and what the customer is telling you over the phone?

In theory if the seal between the drum and heater shield is worn or out of shape water can leak from there.

Next someone will be saying that the women of the house runs a massage parlour from her home and the explosion was all the build up of essential oils igniting due to the lighter left in her druggie partners jeans.

    😉

I of course would never think so badly of someone!

    Re: Water Damaged Floor

Just what you needed on a Friday eh!

You can only do what you are doing.
When you get there to see machine, stand the machine on some old towels, Pour some water through the dispenser with the reservoir out. And see how the water circulates through the pipes.
    Hopefully it won’t leak.

Just in case, speak to your Insurance company before you go so you can go armed with their procedure if the floor has been damaged.

    Good Luck!

Re: When did the ISE10 become obsolete?

As an agent, I haven’t received any notification of the ISE10 becoming obsolete. I don’t know if any other agents were aware.

I too have still been promoting ISE products and recently sent details to various local businesses. Im glad in a way no-one has got back to me.
    😳

In ISE’s defence, I would imagine its down to how busy Ken and John have been with other projects and issues. (Insurance company problems & the Amica contract.)

    Re: ISE job recalls

This wasn’t a dig at ISE more the Insurance company if anyone.

I don’t do work for anyone other than myself so I don’t know what the ‘norm’ is when it comes to recalls and such like.

My post was for those ISE agents like me.

Anyhow, on a minor point I made three trips to this machine not two.
First in May, Second in August when I realised I wouldn’t be able to re-allign, Third when I went back with the spares.

Next time as I say, if there is a next time, perhaps I should order the parts before seeing the machine. Because as we all know we all want that first time fix.

    K, I know you are having a hard time with claims & insurance companies but its a bit harsh to say;

Apart from which T just pointed out that she just sent you a cheque for a pretty reasonable amount. What’s to be bumping your gums about?

I did the work & expect to get paid. In my shoes wouldn’t you be a bit miffed if you had to chase up jobs from May?

See now you are making me ‘Bump my gums.’

I looked but didn’t realise you needed a reply, sorry.
Just thought it was an open invite. Rather than you need to know who might donate.

I’ll see what I can do.
