Re: You want to charge me HOW MUCH!

Had a bit of a do with a customer the other day who insisted I told him over the phone that the total bill would be £42+VAT including parts.

I didn’t even know what parts, if any, were required.

I knew he was that sort of customer so thats why I told him 3 times of my labour charges in the initial phone call.

(Generally if I can’t understand a word they are saying I know theres going to be trouble.)

Re: Lux Intergrated Washer Dryer No Cool Down?

Is this the first time they have used the dryer since you fixed the machine?

Its more than likely nothing to do with the previous repair. Sounds like the dryer isn’t taking in cold water. Check wiring / valve, you know the normal stuff.

    Re: LG F1402FDS

Went today to and had to fit a new pump on the drainage side.
When I was testing the machine the customer said….
“You will have a long wait as you can’t spin on its own!”

I said ” You can by blah blah blah.”

The customer was well impressed with my knowledge.
I made out I was a bit of an expert on LG machines. 🙂

A white lie dosen’t hurt every now and then does it?

How did I miss that one?

Looking forward to the new machines.

Is there a post on here about the new ones etc?

It must be like saying goodbye to an old friend?

    Ditto what Martin said.

Never had a problem with them, its still nice thinking of all that money I have saved since moving from Barclays. I think it was 27p per cheque paid in with Barclays.

The humming is probably coming from one of the valves. Have you kinked the cold or hot fill hose?

Unplug as always if you are going in!

Why didn’t you get her to use her 5 years parts cover through Hoover.

I think its £109 Labour. At least with that you will see that machine again for those door seal, pump or carbon brush jobs that we all need.

Have you actually proved its not heating?

My gut feeling is that the machine is fine its the tenant who’s wrong.

They probably think its not heating because the washing is cold at the end.
    :rolls:

Or is it they are getting a poor wash because of load size or the detergent used.

Check the motor wiring, give each cable a good pull at the motor connector. If its a brush motor check carbons.

The diagnostics are in the fault book / codes.

Look for the Nextra range. 😉

All this will do is get it to fill, turn, heat, drain & kick into full spin.
So it won’t probably help diagnosis much.

Sounds like the motors had it.

    OFF TOPIC I know….
Nearly put that line in myself but thought I would leave it for somebody else to use.
Just got back from my Hols & bought Peter Kays ‘ Saturday Night Peter’ at the airport. Bad move reading it on the plane as I shamed my wife & children by laughing out loud whilst reading it. 😳

Re: Hoover washing machine 1300 special edition model number

Do you get any motor action when washing. It should turn clockwise & anti clockwise.

If you have lost one of the directions then the pcb is the likely culprit.
Faulty heater can cause a no spin plus a blockage in the pressure vessel.

There is quite a few causes of a no spin.

Maybe its time for a local repairer? click repairs@ to find one near you.

Please unplug machine if you are ‘going in.’

Fixed price repairs through the WTA’s website, now is that the future?
