    Re: AW23 front weight

On a side issue does the front come right off on these machines. I assume it does as when I had the front lower panel off I could see two screws facing me.

If it does come off I also assume I can change the front tub in situ?

    Re: CI555WH test program?

I knew I was on the right tracks.

The paper version I used was in a ISE folder which contained leaflets, tech info, wiring diagram and parts breakdown.

I’m sure this was given to me when I sold the first machine, along with the selection of spares.

All I know is that entering the test mode ‘UKwhitegoods fault book’ way is written totally different to the ‘original paper’ version I had in the original handout.

I think the original handout worked but the fault book way didn’t.

I know I eventually did get it into test mode.

I will let her know, thanks.

Have you had any others with front weight issues?

Those screws are the thinnest I’ve ever seen for holding the weights.

I thought the same. Valves, heater, pump all ok. I did wonder about the thermistor and pressure switch but didn’t venture that far.

With the timer at £214 I didn’t want to write it off until I was sure.

    Thanks.

I’ve had this a few times. Dry the area and then go mad with silicone sealant, I mean really mad, and leave for 24 hours.

I can’t help with your problem but surely its not worth the risk or stress in trying to fix it.

    Cheapest on-line price £39.

Tell me to shut up if you want. 🙂

    Re: Hoover softwave auto-washer 1000

If the machine hadn’t spun and there wasn’t much water left in the machine then the fault is due to a blocked pressure chamber. This is a white vessel at the front of the machine. A blockage here will hold the door locked as well.

You will probably find the door opens this morning. 😉

This vessel controls the water level so don’t be tempted to try the machine until you’ve cleaned it out.

You must unplug the machine before attempting the repair. And you must be careful to allign and seal the vessel before running a cycle.

I can’t give guidance to which miele to choose but if your old machine has no power at all do check that a spur hasn’t been accidently turned off and or there is power to the socket that supplies the machine.

Good God, 100 machines in 4 schools!

What do they teach? how to run your own launderette?

    Re: AW23 fault

Before you visit, get them to hold the start button for 20 to 30 seconds.
Then switch off machine then back on.

This can clear the fault. Which is normally caused by people pressing the start button too quickly or too many times in quick succession.

This is probably no help, but on this range of machine once you turn to desired programme the programme time comes into display, after 5 seconds, whether door is open or closed.

I would say the 5 second period of dashes chasing around the display is a self test period. So I suppose it could be any component OC. I would check the pump as well as the valves.

Or just go armed with a door lock.

See I told you I would be of no help. 🙂

Don’t know if you sorted this one but just got back from a similar model which wouldn’t start and found overheated terminals on pressure switch.

Or its the impellor jug. Part no. 424099

This is the part the water flows through before the metering tank.
