    Re: Jury Duty

It can sometimes actually help your reputation if they get somoene who does a bad job or is more expensive

Possibly but how do you ever know. The odd customer that might comment on it next time you see them is nothing to the many jobs lost.
Particularly if they are new customers.

Phidom. am I ok to pass your details on if I get called up?

    🙂

I’m sure its on the site somewhere about the module not holding the motor on? I think they even mentioned which component caused it.

Thats not much use for you is it?

pmb, do you charge £39.50 labour on bearing changes as well?

If I had a WM range that needed new bearings you would do it for about £60.00 all in?

Just interested, when on a fixed labour, how you calculate these sorts of job?

Or do you take the rough with the smooth? And hope its more smooth.

    Re: Emergency services Limited???

I had a call from them two weeks ago. A built-in diplomat diswasher on the outskirts of my area. They phoned to say the engineer they use for all other appliances didn’t want to know. I told them likewise.

I’ve been used to many times and I had a gut feeling this was going to go the same way. I will never know?

    Re: ise5(2)

This spin set-up is no different to the bosch exxcel range and a few other makes. If you select spin on its own they won’t spin at full speed either.

Its not a fault just how its been programmed.

It gets up to about 1200 max. when selecting spin on its own.

Re: Differences between self-employed and being an employee

If this is the norm when employed then I think I’ll stay self-employed.

Re: Hoover Vision HD 9KG washer dryer

And any idea if the unit comes with anything other than standard 12 month warranty ?

Hoover machines come with a 5 years parts cover. I think their labour is now £109.

If pcb or motor I would imagine you would be dearer than £109 all in.

Plus the fact you don’t want to gamble on the pcb.

A revert back to Hoover is on the cards??

    width 60cm
    height 85cm
    depth 54cm.

Somewhere it says the depth is 50.5cm but that is incorrect.

    Re: Servis Pump

I too have tried all the normal pumps but to no avail.

The following was said by robbra but I haven’t tried it myself.

You can screw a Plaset or Askoll to the flanges if you are careful and use some sealant

I would imagine you need thinner screws than what come with the pumps?

    AWM1100 washing machine, not starting.

Me “You need a new door lock. £49 total.”

    Cust “Thats expensive.”

Me “Have you had other quotes?”

    Cust “No.”

Me “Ok. Well I’ve got the lock in the van and can do it now.”

Cust “I thought it would be £25.00 to repair.”

At this point I was close to poking her in the eye.

She finally accepted price and job was completed.

    Thank God.
