You can press the alarm button when it first goes off after 60 seconds and it will then remain off until you next open the door
It cannot be removed from the control board or a board purchased without an alarm buzzer, as this has been investigated for our customers who need to be inoperative on the sabbath.

An overly iced up freezer can cause the fridge to loose temperature, as there is no high temperature alarm for the fridge, it must be the freezer not at the right temperature despite things still being frozen, check for any frost or ice on the rear wall of the freezer all drawers will need removing for a good inspection, if that is the case a good long 2-4 days or longer will be required to allow it to defrost fully, this can be caused by the door not being fully shut, 2mm open and the door open alarm will not sound, if not iced up, yes sensor in fridge as already advised or malfunction of the solenoid valve.

It is found on the label, directly after the model number, something like 164-20A

Hi, the index number will help identify the exact model as there are about 15 versions of a KFN12924Sd
Part 9590206 is compatable with 3 of your sensors but not the 4th which is the fridge evaporator sensor which is foamed in and requires the right sensor kit and is not easily replaced without training.

Sounds like it is working fine, it depends on which thermostat Hoover fitted for that unit, as some do reach 6c or more to allow the back wall of the fridge to defrost, other manufacturers have a lower cut in temperature and give a lower fridge temperature as a consequence.

This older version of fridge freezer has two compressors, so there should be two thermostats, one for each compartment.
The temperature display is an analogue type and often fails to show correct temperature reading, which on this unit is for the freezer temperature.
I would be looking at a faulty thermostat for the fridge section for the issues you have.

The VT93 is available on this site’s shop, it has almost the same temperature range and you need the long sensing phial to fix inside the fridge cooling plate, There are plastic caps by the hole where your hinge pin is, prise those off and the fixing screws are under them, the front facia will then pull forward, be careful as there can be a lack of slack on the wires.

Ok managed to open it, the unit was made between 1994-1996 the majority of the parts including the thermostat and hinge pins are no longer available, The fridge stat is a Ranco K59 L1256 part number 6151154, looking at its cut out and cut in temperatures and the sensing phial length of 2250mm you should be able to fit a Ranco VT93 kit thermostat, easily available. Original thermostat coldest off temperature -25c + or -1.0c warmest off temperature -10c + or – 2.0c constant cut in temperature 5.5c.

He could have wired out the thermostat to test the compressor, which if the freezer is working I suspect it has 2 compressors, unfortunatley I can not open your image, but if you look inside the fridge or the freezer you will find the model and index rating plate attached on the left hand side, you will have to remove salad or freezer drawers to find it, without that I can not help you

Hi Dave, check that the freezer has not become over iced, pull out all the drawers and there should be no frost on the rear panel, if there is it will need a full defrost for a couple of days, or an Engineer visit to carry out a rapid defrost.

Hi Nick, have you tried unplugging from the mains for 30 mins and retrying, also model index and service number is required to identify your exact model.

You need the Ranco VF3 vari fix thermostat, two terminals, power in on one and power out to compressor on the other and it makes no difference which way round you put the wires on.
