ParticipantHave you checked that the fan is nice and free running as I’m wondering if it’s detecting an overload of some sort? As you say the price of the new board is crazy and think I’d be looking at a new hood as it looks like you can get an equivalent for about £160 if you shop around..

ParticipantYou may have just been unlucky with the new bulb. Usually you can see if the filament has failed, so I’d check that and then that the contacts in the bulb holder (unplug fridge first) are nice and clean looking and haven’t been arcing.

ParticipantFarnell have that exact one – https://uk.farnell.com/potter-brumfield-te-connectivity/rt334012f/relay-spst-no-250vac-16a/dp/1891934 – or this one on eBay is a different make but looks to be the same spec – https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/124949175664

ParticipantIs it possible to remove the back end of the spray bar, then twist it to attach at the top, and then reattach at the back?

But is that the diameter of the hole it fits or of the outer lens, which will be larger than the hole?

ParticipantFrom your pictures it looks like you need to remove the ‘paddle’ from the spray bar (twists off?) and then the bar should hopefully twist lock into the top. It does however look like the plastic has got a bit mangled, perhaps when the spray bar has got pulled out, so there may no longer be enough left to fix it properly. Until you try you won’t know.

ParticipantI really don’t think you’ll be able to glue it, but I suppose it’s worth a go. If there’s nothing behind the back at that point then a mechanical fixing would be more likely to work.

ParticipantThat will have been spot welded to the stainless steel back. You certainly won’t be able to solder it, and all I can think of is drilling a hole and using a self tapping screw to hold it, but don’t know if that would cause other issues.

ParticipantI’d say it’s ok too. When the dampers on my Gorenje machine were shot the drum was sometimes hitting the side of the machine and it was also trying to walk its way out from under the worktop!

ParticipantIs it mains noise you are hearing or Radio Frequency pickup. I ask as I have a DAB radio sitting a couple of feet above our washing machine and the DAB reception drops right off when the washing machine motor is running. FM reception is not noticeably affected.

ParticipantIt’s working ok again right now but I do need to deal with it. Just waiting for an opportunity to pull it out and see how easy or not a job it is.

ParticipantThanks for the update and it does sound like a design issue as you say.

ParticipantI can’t think why the bulb and the panel light would be connected but I suppose they could be. I’d just put a new bulb in it and progress from there.

ParticipantCertainly sounds like something has dropped into the pipe and got stuck or maybe it’s a a plug of ice? Is it perhaps possible to wind a screw into the obstruction from the bottom and see if it can be pulled out that way? If it’s ice then gentle warming from below with a hairdryer might melt it.
