    The coupling is fine,I can see the shaft out of gearbox to tub turning.
    Just no drum action.

    Have you checked the fuse where the hood is plugged into.
    It should have a 3 or 5 amp fuse in plugtop or spur outlet depending on its set up.

    Drier doors do not lock when in use, only washing machine doors lock.

    CPC do a nice insulation tester order code IN0546218 at £69.95 + vat +P/P.

    Has 250/500/1000 volt test and ohms testing and voltage readings and comes in a hard case.
    I have used mine for a couple of months now.
