Participantno I checked that, latch pin is in place and spring working I think this might be a long standing problem judging by the way the original interlock was smashed away from its fixings couldnt question the customer directly as I was let in by the son

Participantit is interlocking but not quite far enough to close the contact you have to give the door a good shove. I’m sure I read a post about just such faults on these but I cant find it in search.

Participanttry smearing a little washing up liquid on the very outer edge of the seal if you get bubbles then it must be coming from the seal also is the machine level i.e. water runs to the back?

Participantno, breather hole is too far forward I think its a case of fitting without screws but as there are no fixings close to the front this could cause trapping I will advise customer first

ParticipantI,ve just bought a new vac for the van £39 from Wickes. My last one, same machine, lasted five years does the job perfectly. I know Dyson is not a wet pickup but if you start to factor in price difference where is the efficiency ? Except for Mr Dysons bank balance

Participantjust out of interest I’ve not seen one of these yet and noticed on the picture the outlet hose appears not to have a clamp so how does the hose come off and back on?
