Re: Hotpoint machine with melted door interlock

You will have to meter out the new interlock but its usually neutral thin red to number three. But dont take my word for it and there are two different types of lock on that machine.

if the connection blocks burnt out just do a one for one wire swop using standard amp tags putting an insulated one in the middle. not that uncommon.

this might sound silly but I once had a machine that had a special feature to do just what your describing in order to prevent creases forming at the end of a cycle. cant for the life of me remember what it was but are you on a fully timed or auto cycle?

try pulling the feed from the clock on some of these the relays are held in an open position and no supply will close the contacts. you dont have a clock but do have supply to oven etc.

thanks Dave, it’s in a cool kitchen so the readings look to be about right which would seem to point to the board.

Usually blows the track off. I found that if it’s blown it’s a sure sign that the motor is u/s Look for any tell tale signs on the com or brush holders. I wont fit a new pcb and risk blowing it as it’s quite a hit. A Beko engineer told me that they never change one without a new motor, but out of guarantee that’s BER.

You told him the charge up front (very cheap) he moaned, this bozo was and always will be a waste of time. I know trade is poor but your on a hiding to nothing with people like this and with your obvious health issues do yourself a favour and decline the call. You got hard work aggro and a nasty taste he got a free diagnosis which he doesnt even consider requires skill.
hope your soon on the road to better health.

the media is all over manufacturers for DANGEROUS appliances but oh how funny when this happens, and this happens when you dont read the instructions. the safe operation of this machine is testament to the manufacturer not the user.

Re: Bosch TD keeps destroying belts

Used use by 15 flats!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is commercial use of a domestic machine and use by users that dont give a f*** because its not theirs. Landlord buying wrong tool for the job a bit like we have all seen at the busy pub that wants a cheap second hand machine because “its only for the bar towels and kitchen stuff”. Bosch are right to keep well away, I cant see your doing anything wrong so if your getting paid and you’ve made the landlord aware of the facts and they are happy to carry on then carry on but don’t give any guarantee. The landlord has to balance continued repair costs against a commercial machine cost.
