yep dented it right these new machine are highly dependent on the wash pump….. these machines have no pressure stat or other water level indicator it relies on sensing the currant drawn from the pump to sense the pressure of the water if the spray arms are blocked the pressure is too high so it drains and shuts down.. also if its syphoning etc etc this is just the /1 versions

    cheers

Re: Teba cooker TFC1360SS safety issue

I know for a fact that this group of retailers has done this.

1 major example is on some of the Terim made proline models.

I personally tested to british standards in a UKAS laboratory on of these ovens it passed (just by the skin of it’s control knobs). So the oven was approved for sale in the UK.

The next thing we find out customers complaing about excessive control panel and knob temps.

On investigating this i went and purchased the said model from the the big orange retailer for testing. Sure enough the cooling fan was missing.

On further investigation it turns out the buyer for the shed decided to shave of a few quid by having the fan removed.

A BIG no no. This ended up costing them £60 + cooling fan cost per oven
to have sorted. Say No More. This saving of £2.50 per oven cost them £75 per oven to fix.

We the test lab asked the manufacturer and they told us the big orange people ordered the fan to be removed.

When i went in to buy one, the sales assitant was reluctant to sell me one because of the problems being had. Just shows the staff aren’t even confident in the products. 😆

    You’re right Bob

BS EN60335-1- 1999 states that any internal part of an appliance with access to live components should only be removable with the aid of a tool.

This appliance should never have made it into the country, but there is a chance that the original sample sent for testing would have had that part fixed with screws. 👿 Then the likes of comet, B&Q and the kingfisher group along with teba would have got their heads together and came up with a way of making it cheaper. I’m surprised it still had a cooling fan.

If Teba has gone bust i won’t be surprised either if Comet help it along 😡 .

Re: homark electron series cooker help

    Hi Faybe

The homark electron range of appliance were sold by Texas (if you remember them) about 11 years ago. The appliance was made by Elba DiLonghi so i very much doubt spares are still available.

The model number is 01/02 -300117 it is a seperate built under gas oven with an electric grill.

Part number for the grill is 062053004

Hope this helps Dave Conway may be able to get the element.

Re: ceramic, halogen or magnetic hob?

The name Ceramic came from when they were first invented.

The hotplates were approx 15cm deep and had a ceramic lining which made them completely useless interms of the sheer size of the whole hob and the weight.

Also the first transparentish tops were labelled CERAN.

    So now you know :lesson:

If i’m wrong (which i don’t believe i am) then i’ll apologise now.

There’s a good chance the new element has damp ingress.

Try and run the oven on full with the earth disconnected to dry the element out.

If that not does the trick it could be one of the other elements is about to go try meggering them 👿

    Hi Claudia

My induction hob is De Dietric and it been faultless up to now (about 1 year old). Now i’m touching wood 😆

If your putting an oven under one just make sure the fitter makes as much ventilation as is humanly possible to keep the electronics cool.

To be honest, also make sure the oven has a cooling fan also.

    good luck

Re: ceramic, halogen or magnetic hob?

I have an induction hob (magnetic) and i have to say its the best hob i’ve ever used.

I put mine to the test when i first got it, i put 1 litre of water into our new 3kw kettle and the same on the hob. The water boiled in half the time of the kettle.

Also when i used to do training on these one of my tricks is to ask for a sterling note, screw it up, then place it under the pan. The look of the notes owner face is priceless when he sees the water boiling for a few minutes then reveal the note to be newly ironed.

The control-ablity of these hobs are also better than gas and any other cooking surface.

The technology it’s self is not that new i saw my first one in 1991 imported from france, (needless to say it was the size of a built under oven). This type of hob is the French’s prefferred choice.

Yes the new pans aren’t cheap but they are usually excellent quality and they do not go black as with gas hobs or turn a manky gold colour as with electric hobs.

Frankly they are great and i will never go back to gas hobs again

    Talking of spams

Is there any chance that some A*$e has got hold of the e-mail addresses
from these pages because i keep geting loads of spam e-mails about fertility drugs and fake watches.

I know i have never posted my address directly in the public forums
and i’ve never used my work e-mail for anything else

all the e-mails are from random hotmail accounts eg “huudjasalj@hotmail.com”

    any ideas

As for being ripped off aren’t all spares for what ever it you’re trying to fix a complete rip off.

I can’t remeber where i heard it but if you made a ford fiesta just from spares bought from the dealership it would cost about £30,000

    Re: Sneaky Police Speed Trap

I believe alot of the blame is wrongly put on car drivers.

When a pedestrian is hit and killed on the road, why is it alway the driver fault. Utter rubbish, what was that person doing in the middle of the road in the first place. That is what pelican crossings are for every hundred yards.

Another sad tale is a nine year old girl was killed by a driver at nine o’clock at night on a very busy main road. what the hell is nine year old girl doing out at that time of night in the first place on a main road.

And where it happened the girl would have to have climbed over barriers to get on the road and also there was a traffic light with crossing lights. 50 yards further up 😯
How is that driver going to feel.

Simple fact Roads are for vehicles NOT pedestrians.

sorry for the rant but it really cheeses me off that drivers get all the blame 👿

    Hi Bryan

No not Arrow but again mentioning no names but it begins with T and ends with ERIM. But it wasn’t their fault the large orange DIY store ordered the change 😆

Still it doesn’t change the fact that their ovens are utter rubbish 😆
