ParticipantProbably the bayonet connection was not pushed in and twisted when fitted so when you have moved the cooker the bayonet has moved out slightly causing the gas to go off…..
Just needs pushing back in tight and being given a quater to half a turn to lock it in the on position.

Bill wrote:I go to art classes once a week to wind down and was asked why are appliances so unintresting, why can’t they have picures on them?
Bill Ellis :scot:How about the cannon harvest with the straw with a mouse on top of it.
Or if you fancy going a bit upmarket you could go for a La Cornue (if you have a spare £20k)

ParticipantI cant think of a built in oven with an all metal door, I have swapped alot of shattered glass doors on mfi in the past but they werent all made by the same manufactureror even the same doors, thing is unless you live on your own and never have anybody visit how can you say for definite that the door has never been banged or misused to cause any damage (which could be un-noticable but ultimately result in the glass shattering) so the finger cant really be pointed at mfi as easily as some have suggested (btw dont get me wrong,I am no mfi fan).

jellybean wrote:No – there was no foil or anything else on the bottom. I didnt know Diplomat could be Beko. I was tols by MFI that Diplomat are a Stoves brand – I had no idea this could be beko or another cheaper brand. 🙁
Diplomat are an mfi brand and it is they who then ask manufacturers to build for them, the majority of ovens were Stoves.

Participantdid you have anything on the base of the oven ? eg Foil to keep the oven base clean ?
Diplomat ovens arent all made by the same company, I think the new ones are being made by Beko, but they buy in such bulk you may have one of the other makes that are branded up “Diplomat”.wsts
