    Re: Hotpoint FFA91P noise

Hi, I also have just purchased a FFA91P and i too think that the gurgling noise is excesive, having previously had an LG frost free that didnt make this kind of noise at all!
Hotpoint have advised me to leave it for a couple of months to run in. I have read somewhere else that hotpoint have blamed the retailer for not explaining to the customer about the noise, if this is the case they should probably put a sticker on the appliance to advise customers that tha appliance emits an excessive and intolerable noise.

    Many thanks, Dave.
I suppose we will just have to put up with it until we can’t stand it any more and buy a new fridge. 🙁

If it is under 5 years old Hotpoint will replace the Drum Assembly complete for LABOUR ONLY (usually around £90) so that may well save you the hastle I expect 😀

” do not bother replacing the bearing for labour only . Waste of money . The replacement will not last a year . scrap it and buy a new washer. not hotpoint though nor hoover. Bad design and The bearing are very cheap and will not last . Go for servis or indesit, bosch or Zanussi at a push ” alan g

Holy smoke £27 ? are you people nuts, lol you can almost buy a new oven for that. Looks likes daves ripping you well off, this motor should cost no more than what dave likely pays – less than £5.

Good luck and welcome to rip off Britain

I’m currently on my 5th Smeg FA311X1 Fridge Freezer, Well one faulty one that was to be replaced, four have turned up damaged or of poor manufacture: doors not true, handles misaligned, seal not. All they have offered is an extension of one year to the warrenty.

Maybe suing is the solution how ddi you get on?

im an ex mfi engineer if there is no water in the base then the problem will be usually the airbreak or fill pipe from it. if u cant do it yourself then i would suggest u nip into your local mfi shop and get the no for the repair centre from them. Sometimes u can clear the debris from the back of the flap valve (which also needs to be free from restriction) Put the mc on rinse remove the flap rod the pipe shut the door let some water in and repeat if this doesnt work then u need a new airbreak these mc are made by smeg and the new ones have a modified airbreak to stop this problem. the airbreaks a year ago costed 45 pounds and the engineer will cost u 70 quid approx

    Re: F&P Smartdrive GW701-U problem

All is revealed with the wisdom of a Technical manual. The trouble is F&P in their infinite wisdom won’t release it in case I fry myself.
Totally counter productive as I am more likely to fry something prodding around without a manual ! I guess they are trying to look after their agents.
I eventually stumbled on a cached copy of a similar manual in google that allowed me to figure out the problem through the built in diagnostics. The PDF was not available but there is enough info in the html copy to be very helpful.

    http://66.102.7.104/search?q=cache:6FfK … hing&hl=en

Very satisfying to find an opencircuit plumb-bob switch because of corrosion inside the microswitch. A replacement switch had the machine working again in no time flat – the CPU could do its thing without tripping over a dud switch.
I also learnt how to program the water temperature and to test the pump, solenoids and switches.
The software in the machine is quite intelligent and my opinion of the machine has been lifted again now I understand how to drive the diagnostics. What looks like erratic behaviour is actually the machine alerting the user to a problem. (A dedicated problem led would have been wiser or a sticker on the inside of the lid describing the fault codes and how to get to them !)
If anybody has a PDF version of the Technical manual I would still be most grateful (send a message to:- mike at hs dot com dot au) no spam please.

Re: Teba Built-In Electric Oven – Shorting Out

    Ok…

is this a fan oven or conventional as the model number you are giving is a range of ovens..

if you pull the oven out, on the top of the casing is a label with a bar code on it.

could you e-mail me at r600a@hotmail.com those details
