dependant on where you live depends on the cost of repair,the probable fault on the appliance will be the thermostat.

see if there is a engineer close to you in repairs@ and you will probably find that the total cost is below what hotpoint want as labour and it will be done a lot faster as well.

Hurrah – solved it – it was the catch after all. Whilst I had checked the electrical switch did work, what I hadnt checked was whether the latch was fully closing when the door was shut – it wasnt. So the switch wasnt closing.

A squirt of WD40 on the moving bits and spring inside, and it began to ping back far more forcefully!

Of course, nothing is ever simple, I cut my finger and bled all over the dishwasher and my trousers…bah!

Re: wiring diagram for Sole motor

Finally I made it!!
With the Sole motor.
Now i have 2 speeds and the band saw is working fine.
After experimenting with 7 colored wires and the condensator I´ve got the hang of it.
Well. The speed at 2850 is someway high, and i left the room when the saw started, but it didn´t come after me, so I went back and tested it.
All i can say is that everything isok now. 😆
But. Thanks for trying to support me. Forums like this worth gold for guys like me.
