    Thanks Kevin,
    Our Post code is RM11
I looked in the directories but it seems these are for parts etc. I actually need someone to guide me, in finding the problem.
The cooker is just over 2 years old! (always the way, just out of its cover).

So Dave’s super sealant does the trick? Great – but how do I get into the inside of the door to re-glue the glass? Can I take it apart?

    Re: Flashing lights

    Aargh.

I’ve just found this fantastic website because I’m searching for the solution to a pressing problem. In fact, the one this thread is about!! And now I can’t find the enigmatic “other thread” referred to.

Can I throw myself on the mercy of the experts in the group for a solution to this problem – Diplomat dishwasher (8242) is showing the first three lights flashing and the righthand light solid, not a pattern shown in the manual. When you reset it to try again, on any program, it appears to get going (sounds of water swooshing around, some drainage activity) but about 2 mins into the program it just stops, showing the flashing lights above.

I had an engineer out for the same thing about 6 months ago – he fixed it easily and mentioned something about the program being “stuck”. Any ideas, and is it something I can fix myself in this holiday season?

    many thanks

Hi Thanks for the info, the pictures of the hinges at shop@ appear to be the same as mine. Are they all common sizes, i.e. should I buy one of each just in case there is a slight difference?

    Re: Ariston Margherita 2000!

It’s not been a good couple of weeks, the vacuum packed in (apparently the dust was too much for it?), the fridge door fell of (badly designed hinges) and now the washer/dryer has packed in (out of sympathy?).

It just won’t start the wash programme. I’ve tried following the other advice about the AWD12 on this site (the best bit of advice would probably have been buy something else), but so far no luck. I’ve tried emptying the filter, no money in there only a collar stiffener, the pump spins freely, I’ve turned the dial to off and switch off on the 3rd flash and tried the programme again, nothing. I’ve managed to get it to run a spin cycle and finish of it own accord but I can’t get it to wash anything!

Any suggestions or is there any more information that I may be able to post that may help?

    Re: whirlpool american toploader

    hi,

The whole of the cabinet drops forward, remove the fascia in one lump undoing screws at the back, two clips are revealed which hold the cabinet in place, hinge the cabinet forward to reveal all the mechanicals.

Couplings and pumps are the common failures, watch out for a 6amp fuse hidden in the wiring loom at the side of the timer.

Re: Bosch SGS5302GB not pumping out

What you can do and what I find effective is, as you have done, remove pump cover and set to empty. Any hidden debris will be fired out of pump area and into cavity;; retrieve foreign object and bin and re assemble. 😀 sometimes they get an airlock or empty hose gets blocked, usually if it goes to sink where allsorts of lovelies go down it.

    Hotpoint

I too have had to replace these lifter approx 6/7 times in as many months. It has now got to the point where I am going to purchase a new washing machine which will NOT be a hotpoint but a Zanussi or Bosch. I have found when these lifters come out in a wash, clothes have been damaged. Never again will I buy any Hotpoint product.
