None of them to be brutally frank. The adverse comments on Bosch are true put down to bitter experience BUT not all of them went or will go duff prematurely but a lot probably will. Beko are fair BUT there is a recent report that a pcb component can fail but the pcb are fairly cheap should that happen – although you do not normally buy stuff with a known problems do you Beko or Bosch? ( although plenty of people still buy VW/ Audis but they might be idiots – plenty of them drive like idiots! ). Miele go wrong – it`s a machine!!! – when they do you`ll be hammered on repair costs accordingly and some of those costs are bowel tremblingly horrific – you only hear about about the glowing success stories ( and many will be ) but you never hear about a water solenoid in the fill matrix that costs a rip off 167 quid that cost 12 quid to make. I do not like AEG/ Electrolux, Zanussi dishwashers. Hell, I do not even own a dishwasher. Just go with what your gut feeling suggests not what I or anyone else suggests.
You`ll have to just way things up. If I was to buy a dishwasher ( and that ain`t ever going to happen ) I probably would buy a Curry`s Essentials or a Kenwood, could even be the same machines at different prices since I no longer get involved with dishwasher or only rarely I`m going to be out of date somewhat but that is based on I never buy expensive pieces of kit ever whether appliances or motorcycles; I`d rather look after something that was a reasonable price and the least high tech I can get away with and when or if it fails sort it out. Rather than get caught in the too expensive to repair too expensive to scrap syndrome loop, in other words caught by the short ones!

Best of luck when that replacement time comes but be warned as there is a chance that the drum drop`eth before the belt pops off and the droopy drum cuts the front tank half = a bloody great flood. That typically happens when you least expect it. Of my little list a straight forward non gimmicky Lg is better built than all the others ( including the Bosch. The Vestel machines are not bad but I would not recommend them for the family man, Samsungs are very variable but are reasonable machines overall, Haier suffer from a lack of spare parts and possibily expensive ones at that ). BUT Lg, in my opinion, might have an increased chance of premature obsolete future parts ( whether under a right to repair ruling or not ) certainly when compared to the current Bosch WAN series – Bosch have the best after sales spares supply to date. If you do go for a Bosch as a replacement do your homework and double check and that is easy: go to Bosch uk spares and type in the model code and so long as the site is up to date pictures part numbers and prices will be found that will allow you too compare parts with other brands although most of the other brands yuse 3rd party spare companies to do the spare parts distrubution on their behalf and so the exercise can spiral in to a major undertaking – well, you don`t expect it to be that easy do you?

Superb result. Just make sure everything is taped and cable tied properly so nothing chaffs.

One of the biggest sellers that I used to seldom ever go to ( having given up 35{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of my business back in 2019 due to new parts failing with not much come back but I will not under any circumstances mention the reason why or which brand caused that……..replacement heatpump failure at typically 4 months.Bosch, ooops, I just knew that would happen! ) and that was of all things a humble Curry`s Essentials chinese dishwasher ( fellow Uk Whitegoods members all now have their heads shaking in hands! ): ok it`s cheap, a bit noisy but cheerful. The two I remember were no pump out problems = pump jammed by something or other, in other words someone did something they should not have done. I know of a Pro Action that is about 14 years old, a similar machine to a Currys Essentials under a different branding name back then. Kenwood and, the then entry level Beko were pretty good too from memory. My point is you can do an aweful lot worse at more than twice the price in the dishwasher world. Bosch as far as I`m concerned are not the machines they once were: the original SMS series from 25 years ago was a well built, well thought out, machine with a wash motor and outlet pump that could easily last 20 years plus. The new stuff is C21st plastic Mickey Mouse quality.

I’m tempted to go for freestanding vented – as it seems a few are still available new, but I assume you’re all saying that given the decline of venteds, spares will become harder to find in future, and it’s inevitable that we’ll all end up with HP machines?? If I was you I would avoid the curse of the heat pump for as long as is possible and let the techo brigade buy them first and go for a free standing vented but not a Hotpoint or Indesit – simple machines with an electromechanical timer ( that is good! ) but with a crap rear bearing design ( that is bad! ). The Montpellier vented dryer use the same brand Electriq does ( given their company reviews I very much doubt there will be spares from that lot ) and Currys Logik all 3 really being Vestel tumble dryers as far as is known. There is Bush from Argos for 160 quid too, think that is vestel too. Beko vented tumble dryers I seldom get called out to, if you want to go a bit upmarket there is a Zanussi for 300 quid. I myself would avoid Bosch tumble dryers vented or otherwise.
Heat pump tumble dryers can be reliable but they are all rather complex what with an inverse fridge unit and computer controlled….trade should be storing up future fun and games there! Personally I think HP it is a stupid idea but then that is just my opinion.

I would not necessarily recommend what follows. As far as known: Samsung, LG, Currys Logik, Haier, all the Turkish Vestel machines, Bush, Montpellier. So anything ( as far as is known ) that is Chinese, Korean, and Turkish Vestel machines have a dismantleable tank i.e. not a sealed tank.

See the post below yours i.e. Beko WDR7543121W. Could be this D7 diode main pcb failure problem.( modern Blombergs are Beko )

It is or even more recent but it still might fit. I don`t think the bloke has got too many other options frankly other than re-taging so if this does solve the problem the machine live`th again.

Officially that is not for your model BUT, and I never tried it, 1st count the number of wires you have to make sure that the new substitute cable block is not to big or too small before doing anything ( and I cannot say yay or nay and neither can I know whether the gauge of wires are the same thickness though looking at the picture I think they are the same ) and so physically is the right size then you could use it but you might need a sharp knife to cut the little plugs plastic guide pips off ( ? ) so it`ll push into the motor block and 2nd thing do not expect t`other end to plug onto the timer but if worse comes to worst you could cut and join the new part loom to the old existing loom with joiners allowing an extra length too at the same time. If so, problem solved! If you are going to try this and have to cut into the loom ( as I think you may well have to…? ) do ONE wire at a time: ONE FALSE WIRING COCK-UP and you blow the motor / timer.

Yes that is right. From memory the connector block itself will not be much use to you as there was a special tool to fit the wires between the tag tangs so the kit is fairly useless as the harness was not made up for you; so back to square one again with the lack of tool again. The motor`s loom connector block kit part number is C00202905 or hotpoint website`s spare ref number is J00148228 if you wanted to know that. What you could do is to buy some cooker 90 degree female tags and insulate every one or every other one thus curing the problem without the tool. You might want to also check where the motor`s loom is cable tied to the chassis as that is where the wires also break with the movement of the tank assembly. If so, and as a point, because the machine is getting on in years, the lower suspension dampers might be getting worn by now so if you did have the machine occasionally banging about with a NORMAL load on prespin that is usually why apart from the top 2 springs that used to break, their achilles heel, but that one is of course obvious and unlike the lower suspension damper kit el cheapo to replace..

Try isolating the dryer heaters` wires – pull them off the heater – because it is possible that the actual element has trickled to earth- not enough to take out a trip – this is fairly common and causes many an off beat fault as the earth fault temporarily messes up the pcb. Then see if anything improves. There are two model versions based on your model number begins with 914 but both share the same heater as one unit as an aluminium housing ; in other words it appears you cannot buy just a new heater; typical C21st!!. Possible it could be just the door lock at fault too. Try the first suggestion as that costs nothing to try. If it is proved that all is now well with the dryer wires removed when I looked this up for you the heater unit part number 3486348802 is not available. Whether this is only temporary it did not say. You can look up spares for your John Lewis contraption on the Zanussi uk spares website as I did and it is based on the product code 91460470000 or yours could be a 91460470001 version as read off the machine`s label on the front chassis plate next to the door seal usually a 6 o/clock position.

Ooops! To answer the question. If I`m right ( because I might not be ) the machine is a gonna. The tank unit itiself is about £200.

I think your bearings are nuked but not in the usual way ( does that make sense? ). What I think has happened is around the bearing / oil seal housing tube it has split its plastic allowing water to get in and the detergent has dissolved the grease and is beginning to rust the bearing. This would give the machine the Jimmy Shakes on spin, a deposit within the machine …if you look closely at the Ist photo you see the grey /white lime which is normal but with a very faint brown tinge. but 2nd photo you can see the grey oilly deposit ( which is not classed as normal ) with a faint brown rust deposit. The 3rd picture gives you a pronounced rusty type deposit. So you have leaping around, a deposit, putting the two things together = something not right there with drum bearings I would not be surprised if the drum is loose….is it?

Yes. What occured to me was I think she is getting confused between maybe the past i.e. her foray using her past detergents and the present state of play. You wrote ” overdosing on detergent. And this is proven by the fact that you see lots of foam, created by the film of leftover detergent residue that can be caused by overdosing.” Which could have been true and is a good point. But like I said there isn`t any powder residue left in the machine because it does not appear to froth.
I will pass on your idea that she uses a biological powder Aldi`s or otherwise and see what happens.
Thanks for going to the trouble for the reply and I`ll see how things materialize over the weeks.
