ParticipantIf you have a ribbon cable fron the selector pcb that goes down to a pcb r/h/s/rear corner of the machine the cable where it joins to the connector block fails there. I have not checked your model to see if you have this setup. It happened to me once on a Hoover but cannot remember the actual model.

ParticipantI would try the following. Buy a 250cc box of Aqua softna descaling crystals and pop the contents in the main wash compartment draw. Then over the crystals pour 3 cap fulls of Flash liquid lemon cleaner. Then quickly set on a synthetics 60 wash, when it has finished filling add via soap draw 4 lts of water to raise the water level. Been doing this on my 22 year old Hotpoint every 10 weeks and it works a treat.

Yes!!March 25, 2019 at 4:13 am in reply to: Stung by the seal tub scandal – what’s the best of a bad bunch? #460747andyjawa
Participant” Beko it is then “. Err….Which also has a sealed tank! The only machines I can think of that DO NOT have a sealed tank are SOME Neff, Siemens, Bosch. I `m pretty sure all the Miele. Of the other brands: basically this comes down to Vestel made machines from Turkey e.g. Montpellier and Chinese / Korean brands such as Currys Logik, Essentials – which could be from either countries as per Bush. Lg, Samsung, Statesman and Haier.

ParticipantFor 15 quids worth of parts to fix the Currys Essentials C510wm13 seems a bit of a shame: 6204 6205 bearings and a v35x56x10/11.5mm oil seal. If you got 6 to 7 years out of one of these for 150 quid you did very well. They can be taken to pieces and rebuilt but it is just very time consuming
Siemens. You did well too. Known the Neff version to fail much earlier, more or less the same contraption except Neff is built-in.
You`d find that the Servis was naff at washing because of the small paddles in fact most of the cheap contraptions out there have fairly small paddles which is why they are cheap. Most still seem to wash reasonably well even so.March 24, 2019 at 1:20 pm in reply to: Siemens E12-46 Tripping after high speed cycle/draining #460885andyjawa
ParticipantEverytime I type the model you give the s is replaced by an 8. Based on that the motor brush part number is 00154740 usually listed without the 00`s at abot 30 quid. There are pattern versions at much less cost but alas much less quality too! It will probably be the motor brushes worn out. Your best bet is to start there. Any deep grooved damaged commutator might have taken out the motor`s internal over load = it ain`t gonna work so if that is the case best buy a pair as pattern parts for 4 quid first to try and then if the motor 1) doesn`t work or 2) sparks like November 5th should it work you`ll then be into a new replacement motor only having wasted a mere 4 quid rather than 30 quid.

ParticipantProbably was the dryer`s overload thermostat button clicked out and that was all. They often do that apparently either due to a blockage – common, the fan motor failing – pretty rare -, or simply just trying to dry to much as one single load – more common than you would think.

ParticipantUPDATE. Sussed the cause. That motor that was stiff was the cause of the pcb going wrong. ….I think!! Went to somebody elses Samsung, 8 kg model, for something unrelated ( a leak ) the next day and as pure luck would have it it had the same motor fitted, it spins by hand very freely so presume that was the cause of pcb fuse blowing up as per the one as above. Note whilst searching for the under 10 year part warrantied motor it was listed as …….obsolete. Surely that is wrong even for a ” Shamshung “?

ParticipantUsually this is a broken wire that goes into the plastic small box ( with a small pcb underneath it ) located onto the top of the tank at the front. Usually 1 or 2 wires break there by the insulation tape binding but note they are all white wires, which wires go where if you can resolder? You`ll just have to look at the way the wires broke!. If you are not sure what I`m on about go to Partmaster and type this in: 2454223pm for a picture shown upside down.

ParticipantOnly possible thing I can think of is if you have the inset in the soap draw set for taking liquid rather than for powder. If set for taking liquid by mistake you have a dam so the powder cannot escape. Have a look at your instruction booklet! from memory the part that is called the inset and is coloured blue.

ParticipantChances are very good that the motor brushes are worn out. There were3 uk models and they will end as WFF2000/01, or /11 or /12 and they all use Bosch part number 154740 brushes about 34 quid as genuine parts. Do not use the cheap pattern 4 quid ones off Ebay or from elsewhere as those are nowhere the same quality. The machine will have to be pulled out to remove the large rear panel and there is no getting away from that sadly. Tipping the machine to look underneath is dangerous and pointlless as any of these 3 versions have a metal base where you will see naff all.
These were very high quality machines ( unlike Bosch now ) The problem is how much to replace them and make sure you pay for what you want i.e. do not pay for el cheapo brushes at the genuine price….been in the trade 35 years so I know what goes on only too well. Another thought is the drum spider is 22 years old ( obsolete ) and so are the bearings 22 years old ( still available ) so you could end up throwing your spons away should they soon fail and at 22 years old neither will be improving with age.. A crystal ball job that one.andyjawa
Participant. Is there an internal fuse? Not that I am aware of. Fairly often with these the actual plug fails. By checking the plug I presume you had the washing machine`s lid off with a multimeter testing the live (L) and neutral (N) of the plug to the L and N of the suppressor???

ParticipantNot an easy one this! Aborting the cycle. Could be a leak since your model has a base and float detecting system fitted, so remove the rear cover or since this thing is built in remove the front plastic plinth is easier and shine a torch to see if any basal water as this is very common on the base pan underneath the machine. OTHER THINGS .When it does this is the door still locked? After 5 minutes of it being ” aborted ” can the door be opened? It is possible that the door interlock is failing, part number 00603521 at about 30 quid. Of course it is also possible the circuit board input power chip is failing which is bad news. £245 and probably, if truth is known, obsolete.
Things that fail at circ 14 years old: motor brush failure: total failure = no drum action ( no tumbling and no spin though the machine still pumps out ), a boarder line fail could mean the machine also aborts the programme but the drum still goes around. The rear panel on these machines allow you loads of room to remove the motor to have a look at the carbon motor brushes of which there are 2 types fitted depending upon which motor you ended up with there are the very common 00154740 brushes which as a pattern part is very cheap or the FHP made motor brushes part 00173028 which are much more expensive; could be either more likely to be the former.
Beware of chasing the ” repair ” on these machines at this age as anything is possible. Go have a look first and see if the machine is leaking on its metal base before touching / buying anything whether a spare or, God forbid a new machine- try to avoid the latter if you can!! If you find you have a leak check the door seal first at smack on 6 o/clock position very common they put a small hole in the flange, if you find a multitude of tears your suspension is shot where the machine has bounced about too much allowing the door seal to rub on the concrete front weight.
Any tatting about remember to turn the power of before you do!!!andyjawa
ParticipantPS part number for a heat pump for that model is 00651956 listed at about £124 but you might get it cheaper elsewhere. Rip off for what it is and it might not last that long. I`ve stopped all Bosch/Siemens/ Neff dishwasher repairs as I have had too many jobs recalled with this heat pump as any others across all their range of 100`s of models. Losing 30{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of my business is worth it to me for less hassle pure and simple.
andyjawa
ParticipantI`m rather shocked no one has replied to this!!! Your problem 9 times out of 10 will be the heat pump = a wash motor and heater combined = heat pump. E09 failure is very common because, basically, the heaters are rubbish as indeed is the rest of the machine and this goes for the Bosch and Siemens versions too. So much for paying the extra for a dishwasher. Everyone would be better off 1) not having a dishwasher or/and 2) buying a basic Beko. Sorry to be blunt and sorry no one got back to you sooner, why? I do not know. Usually the heater fails at 4 years old. Dreadful things, should all be recalled or discounted repairs. Bosch et all trying to cut costs on production, sheer greed!!
