ParticipantRe: Smoke….
Using that logic, then Indesit PCB’s must breach the July 1st Smoking Law. Does that mean that every time a module goes up in smoke, we have to report it as “Smoking in an enclosed space”? 😆

The oven will need to be pulled out from the housing (6″ will do). Make sure it doesn’t tip up by supporting the underneath with a chair or ‘workmate’. There are 2 screws (1 either side) behind the fascia on the rim of the oven trim. Remove the knobs (apart from the knob closest to the middle – there is a reason for this) and then carefully pull out the clock buttons with the tips of your fingers.
Now undo the screws from the rear of the fascia. Holding the glass panel firmly, pull off the remaining knob and remove the panel from the oven. Doing it this way avoids the possibility of the glass panel being dropped as the fascia is unscrewed. 😉
Fitting the fluorescent tube is easy. Then refit as a reversal of removal: glass panel on, fit knob to hold it; fasten with screws and refit all buttons and knobs.
Source the fluorescent tube before you start the job – if you can’t get it, Dave can find it for you, just e’mail Shop@ with the model number.
Power off at the wall and the ‘fusebox’ before you start ANY work. Stay alive!!HTH,
Steve.

Make sure the inlet hoses are not getting kinked as you push it back in!! 😉

ParticipantRe: Zanussi Jetsystem 900 RSi FJ964 – possibly timer broken?
Intermittent fault would suggest that it is definitely blocked – the blockage can ‘shift’ and allow the machine to work now and again. Be careful though – pressure switch blockages can lead to flooded kitchens in many cases.
Get it sorted as soon as possible. 😉Steve.

ParticipantRe: Bosch Oven HBN222BGB/02 (updated)
The relay will be a small rectangular box (usually white) with 2 terminals on one end. Those terminals are the switch for the oven on /off supply dictated by the clock setting. 😉
The other set of terminals will usually just go straight on to the PCB. These will power the clock itself.HTH,
Steve

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint / Ind DW’s
Some of the Haier / Indesit clones have reverted to the 2 tubes at the front corners. If it’s not reasonably level and they use 5 in 1’s – watch out!!!
Where’s Noah when you need him??? 😆 Who designs this utter rubbish? Probably gone into hiding, I would imagine!!!Steve.

ParticipantRe: Zanussi Jetsystem 900 RSi FJ964 – possibly timer broken?
Don’t worry about ’11 years old’ with this Zanussi. This is a first class machine and much better quality than you could buy today under £400!!
If the timer has failed, it is still seriously worth considering fixing it – as long as everything else is in good order. 🙂
The clean out of the air chamber controlling the water level pressure switch is fiddly. It is best (and more thorough) to remove it from the machine.
IMHO it would be prudent to get an engineer to check it over first and as Martin said, it could well be something small and inexpensive. The timer units are usually very reliable.

ParticipantRe: Ariston Margherita 2000- How do i isolate this fault
You can be assured that any secondhand boards you can find will all be u/s. Yes, they are that good!! Recon PCB is the only reasonable answer, but the machine, as my colleagues say, is at best, err….rubbish – so spend your money on a better new machine and put it down to experience.
A piece of advice to avoid making the same mistake again – Ariston, Indes*it, Hotpoint and Creda are one and the same machine.
You have been warned……… 😉Steve.

ParticipantRe: Creda Double oven CRE6224727
The grill is controlled by a Diamond H regulator type 33ER3HT; the usual green -backed dual circuit unit seen in loads of Creda cookers. They fail on one circuit quite often – that will be where your fault lies. 😉
HTH,

Probably no heat. These Zanussi’s will do a wash start to finish and never heat.
Usually solder joints blown on the PCB. 😉Hope that helps,

ParticipantRe: corrosion…. never seen it so bad
Is it just Merloni spiders, or do Lux ones suffer to? Down here, (the ‘hard water’ area), Zanussi spiders rarely fail from scaling (even if Calgon claim they do). 90{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of spider breakage failures are Hotpoint based machines and the customer uses liquid detergent and low temperatures. 😉 Zanussi spiders seem to be made of better materials.
What do you think Jim??Steve.

PNC number please Chris!! There’s 3 of them!! :rolls: Although all of them show a blocked or faulty pressostat as the cause of the continuous pumping.

ParticipantRe: Smeg DWF614SS dishwasher F8.
Thanks!!!!
These Smeg machines seem to be very problematic – I have 3 to see in the next 2 days (all dishwashers). 😯
It’s difficult to remember the regular faults, their codes and cures. Bloody diagnostics! Dishwashers worked fine without them for 30 years or more; so why re-invent the wheel?
Shouldn’t complain though; it’s paid work after all!! :conf:Cheers!!
