Look at the edge connections – on the component side of the board are the markings “stat 1” “stat 2”, “tac01” and “tac02”.
Trace the stat and tacho wires to the plug……that should do it. 😉

If the new soap dispenser hose I have just fitted gets damaged again I will suggest replacing all three suspension legs as well as the hose.

It has to be said the tub is rather close to the soap drawer. I fitted a new soap hose today and protected it with a piece of clear plastic held under one loop of the clip. The tub rim will hit the plastic before it wears the hose.

    Here’s hoping…….

Re: Qualtex discount scheme for WTA.

I’ve got to nail this down for September so –

    1) What do we want from Qualtex? What do we really NEED from them ATM apart from the promise of support in the future as the WTA expands?

    2) I need to give Qualtex the dates but I’ve held off for the decision on the venue.

    3) If we are to meet Phil, what needs to be asked? I can do it myself and post the outcomes on here (without committing to anything…….had to say that!!) or do we need a group meeting; is that necessary at this stage?

At the meeting, it was suggested that it was predictable where Phil was going with his offer to help. Surely ATM the only thing to secure is the discount scheme and the spreading of the WTA message using Qualtex’s customer base. The legal help offer is interesting though IMO not needed yet.
The September meeting is hopefully going to showcase the WTA and all we need is Qualtex to reiterate that support to the attendees. In that case, they will need a slot in the proceedings and how that pans out will have to be decided on. I feel ATM I cannot say anything concrete to them but time is getting short; I really need to know if we are or are not going to invite Qualtex for a presentation spot on their products (like Masterpart did) with them offering discount to WTA members and their support for the TA or just for the presentation.
The other things that Phil mentioned are for future consideration; we need to concentrate on building membership numbers first.

    Comments please!!

    Hi Malc!! :waving:

That heater set up will only be ‘pulsed’ by the water pressure from the motor. I would suspect the water metering sytem is blocked and not filling the machine with the correct amount of water so the pressure in the heater box is not constant and therefore ‘pulses’.

Hope you’re keeping well, mate; all the best! 😀

    Re: Haiko semi D/w

Haiko is Naiko……and it’s a slimline Indesit clone from China. Therefore it’ll probably be a right angled outlet hose tied out of the way of the flow heater with zip ties.
    High quality stuff. 😉

Re: Whirlpool ADG7550 top rotor not spining

The top rotor feeder pipe has a habit of popping out of its socket in the top of the sump. The little clips that hold it in place fatigue and split letting the force of the water literally lift the pipe out of position. This disconnects the top rotor from the wash pump. 😉
The pipe socket is readily available: the job is a fiddly but otherwise straightforward repair.

Yes, just be sure to remove the little hose clamp at the bottom carefully as the hose it is clamping is attached to the heater. Try not to put any strain on this hose.

    Re: zanussi dw915 heater replacement

No need to tip the dishwasher back – access the heater terminals and clamp plate through the front plinth space. Remove the plinth and you will see. 😉

If the heater is working, why change it? A DW915 is getting on in years now so throwing large amounts of cash at it is the wrong thing to do as some parts are obsolete for this machine. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it! But it has to be said, you will find it difficult to get a new machine that can work and last as long as the Zanussi DW915. Top grade Bosch / Siemens or Miele are your only real choices at £500+. Electrolux own Zanussi now and their offerings are……..well, not good shall we say.

Re: Late zanussi washer with sealed drum

Remove the door gasket. If it’s a non – magnetic item, use stiff wire to push a rag down one side of the object. Slowly turn the drum so the object rises to the top where it will fall out. Patience required!!

For metal items, use a strong magnet from the back of a speaker, put it inside the drum against the front face. Once the object is attracted to the magnet, turn the drum until the item is at the top and pull off the magnet.

    Yes.

also do you know where the drier heater is located

Top of the machine in the aluminium “box” that is fitted to the underside of the cabinet crossbrace. The terminals are at the back of this; the rear section of the machine needs to be removed to access the connections and to remove the drier heater element.

Power off before any inspection, of course. :plug:

    It’s a Bosch in chav’s clothing…… 😆

The water metering system behind the left side panel will probably be blocked with food sludge. The pipe that goes from this routes to the sump and this is usually bunged up with sludge as well. Strip out and clean the parts, refit and it should heat perfectly.
Why it won’t heat:- There is a pressure switch on the end of the heater box (microswitch between the heater terminals) that is activated once the pressure of water in the heater box is enough to push back the plunger and switch the heater in. If the water metering system is blocked, it doesn’t fill the machine with enough water for the motor to pressurize, so the plunger isn’t pushed back, etc..etc….. 😉

    Hope that helps,

    Steve.

    Re: Zanussi FLS 1183W

    Turned it upside down? 😯

The pressure chamber is the turret on top of the pump / filter housing with the small rubber hose going to it. You can locate this with the machine leant back against the wall and a torch. The chamber is usually blocked with sludge and if you have turned the machine upside down (8O) it is possible that this sludge has been dislodged and blocked the chamber.
Pump / filter housing out is the only real way of cleaning it thouroughly. It is the type of job that you would try to avoid doing twice, so do it once…..properly.

You can’t get into Australia as a Domestic Appliance Engineer – it’s not considered a ‘trade’ according to the skills assessment. No trade certificate, no recognised qualification, therefore our “trade” doesn’t technically exist. But chainsaw mechanic and painter are……. :hmm:

We were going to go about 6 years ago but eventually decided against it as most of our family are here. Too many people lie on their applications; I know of 2 couples who fabricated all their own proof of skills and headed letters of recommendation but managed to wing it. They really struggled to start with. But you are only fooling yourself if you get there and can’t get work with the skills you have. You’ll only just get enough points if you are under 39 and can tick all the boxes.
Australia ought to adopt the British immigration policy that just checks for a pulse…….. :rolls:
