It is “good practice” to do so, but it will not affect the day to day working of the machine. The only thing is if the diagnostics were looked at, the code would show up, but may not be relevent to the new fault, so a possible confusion could arise.

Erasing the last stored fault will not erase a problem. The machine will run with the fault code stored even after the faulty part has been replaced. So if the machine is still showing a fault code, you still have a fault…….

You need to remove the drawer and thoroughly clean the underside of the soap drawer housing. This is the part that has the jets in it that wash the powder away (not to be confused with the drawer itself that you pull out; it is the plastic box that the drawer pushes INTO that requires the attention). If these jets are blocked, the powder will remain or be just slightly wet.
If the problem still persists, then there may be a problem with the triple inlet valve.

    Hope that helps,

Very unlikely to be the pressure switch at fault. Either:-

    1) There is a small hole rubbed in the pressure hoses;

    2) The pressure chamber on top of the filter housing is full of sludge. This is a fiddly job; but not too difficult. The pump / filter housing has to be removed from the machine to do this properly.

Power off before any investigation begins. :plug:

Thanks Chris – and after all that – (insert dopey voice) “I think we’ll probably buy a new one; this Indesit has been really good.” 👿

    Good luck with that……… :rolls:

If the filter is clean then the machine is sensing that it has not completely drained in the time allowed. That will mean checking the outlet hose and the spigot on the sink trap (if it is connected to the sink trap) for blockages. With the power off :plug: check the sump hose for foreign bodies, eg: a sock. Lean the machine back, lay down on the floor and look up under the machine. The sump hose is a concertina type on the right side of the machine from the tub to the pump housing. If all that is clear, it may indicate a failing pump or the triac that powers it (main circuit board) problems.

    My money’s on a simple blockage. 😉

    Re: Stoves door removal

They are hooked on to springs inside each side panel. The oven needs to be pulled out of its housing and the side panels removed. The spring hook positions will be clearly seen.
Word of warning – unhook the springs carefully with the door supported as the hinges, once disconnected from the springs, will allow the door to slide out and smash if you haven’t prepared for it. Also, correct reassembly is vital as the hinge has spacers that can get mixed up. It is advisable to photograph every angle of the assembly with a digital camera BEFORE you attempt to dismantle it to avoid possible problems.
That said, it’s not a complex job but care is advised.

Power off before any inspection. Safety first!! :plug:

    Re: Zanussi ZWF1007 diagnostics

Press and hold the start / pause button and the next option button to the left of it. Turn dial one position. This puts the PCB into diagnostic mode. Codes are give or take the same as all Zanussi machines ie: same as the Fault code book and Known Error Codes thread. Tenth position on the dial is the last recorded fault code and also the fault code erase position. 1 – 9 are the component test phases.

    Hope that helps,

    Steve.

Re: Securing machines in your van?

I have a piece of 4″ X 2″ wood bolted to the bulkhead covered in carpet going right across the van from side door to side door. 2 heavy duty screweyes at either end and one in the middle fitted underneath the wood. This keeps them from fouling the sides of the machines. Ratchet straps are then hooked through the eyes and cranked up.
I also have some screweyes fitted lower down (about 12″off the floor) for tying down microwaves and single ovens. Never had a machine break free.

That “blue condom” is fitted to the later Electrolux manufactured units – B4140 is good old, proper AEG stuff; no spaghetti in sight. 😉

    Re: AEG competence oven

There is a klixon cut out on the top of this oven under the lid. Looking from the front, the one on the left side mounted on the cooling fan duct is the safety cut out and the one on the right fitted to the top of the oven body is the fan starter stat. Probably cabinet cooling fan issues caused the safety stat to trip….
