There’s a ancient Bosch on my patch that looks almost the same as that Gaggenau……I’ll try and find her phone number and see if I can get a model number for you Chris. I think it has the round filter set up IIRC. I saw it about 2 months ago in the kitchen while I was repairing their Zanussi washer.
Fingers crossed………:wink:The other possibility is the old Bauknecht GSF1130GB salt cap. It has lugs rather than a thread. Worth a look………..

ParticipantRe: Bosch WTA4108GB/01 drier no heat.
electrofix wrote:if it was me i would short it out for test purposes see if it heats for longer with it out.
I would have tried that but the ‘stat is a double with a common and 2 separate tags on the opposing side. So even if I connected one then the other, it would not necessarily give me the correct result. The resetable cut out had popped when I visited, and I pushed that back in and it seemed to start to heat. When the heat stopped, the cut out was still N/C, the other 2 tag stat above it on the heater plate was still N/C, so I assumed it had to be the remaining stat on the filter housing. But I’m not completely sure…. I have to say that it was the sight of a PCB in this Bosch drier and the thought of a flash! pop! if I got it wrong that sorta made me chicken out of a short out type of test with that stat. 😆
Is this a common fault? The stats are sooooo costly, that buying and trying are out of the question.
Any ideas, folks??
Thanks

I don’t do any contract work at all but here’s my thoughts for what it’s worth…….
This company also offers debt collection, including aged debt which would definately interest some members; question is, how much do they charge? The site also doesn’t state the lowest level of debt they would touch. This scheme would have to be WTA run and possibly funded. But in the light of the MFI debacle that info could have possibly saved a lot of people that found themselves exposed to sizeable losses and grabbing collection agencies.Steve.

ParticipantRe: punctured tyre
Radials are more stable under cornering; they tend to lessen the understeer of the car at speed. The body of the tyre is braced by steel wire bands and these help stabilise the shape of the tyre and in turn they generate more ‘feel’ at the steering wheel. They are better under harsh braking conditions as well.
Crossply tyres are good in a straight line but can wander at speed. In the days when cars hoped to get to 60mph eventually, crossplies were fine. Steering boxes and drop linkages had a lot of play compared to a rack and pinion set up and crossplies would, to an extent, help to straighten the direction of the car.
It is useful to note that most small purpose built trailers still use crossplies to this day. This is due to the need for the trailer to follow a straight path and reduce sideways tyre scrubbing while cornering. Small trailers with radials will tend to weave more than a trailer with crossplies. 😉Steve.

Motor carbons or shorting armature would be the first place to look….. 😉
Run the diagnostics; this machine uses the EWM2000 PCB so that should give you a last fault code. It’s important to remember the amount of EWM2000 PCB’s that have been fried by faulty door interlocks, so look at the interlock carefully for any signs of burning; if in doubt, change it.HTH,
Steve.

Participantboselecta wrote:Seems to be working fine when tested. Havn’t tested it with a load yet. Will let you know how my hybrid machine gets along with a load as the wf340 had a 1400 spin, the wma was 1200, could be a problem!.
It’ll be fine. Unlike the old GEC motors with their extra tag for the 1200 spin half – winding, all the WMA and WF use 7 tag connection blocks in the same configuration. In fact, the new motor available for the WMA replaces the Bosch, Ceset and FHP versions regardless of spin speeds.

ParticipantRe: How to seperate sealed Drum
WMA tub in a WF body……WF electronics controlling WMA motor…..wiring loom to motor lengthened to suit motor hanging on the opposite side of the cabinet access panel……. 😯
Good God, Dr Frankenstein…it’ll all blow up!!! Or as Fraser would say “We’re doomed!!”
Well, it didn’t and it hasn’t…and it’s 2 years plus ago that my workshop towel washer had such a transplant. Partly to see and partly because I had 2 machines to hand; a WF super silent induction machine with a blown PCB and good 30mm drum (motor hangs right) and a WMT03 with good electronics. Had a spare early WF motor, so that went in. All fitted and has the preverbial kicked out of it twice a week.If you asked if I would sell it on then that would be a different matter; probably not.
But, for the record, it can be done and it does work. Now I await the adverse comments…….but practical experience wins over theory.
But then someone once told me that you couldn’t possibly convert a Triumph Herald saloon into a Coupe as they were 2 completely different cars. And that cost him “Best coupe in Show” when it was finished….. You may have seen it – the only “E” reg Herald Coupe there is in maroon and white.Steve.

ParticipantRe: ISE 10 Question
I posted on this issue when I sold my first ISE10 and had a similar experience. It was a knocking noise and meant the spin was quite noisy compared to the ISE 5 /2 induction motor.
It turned out to be the belt, sat in one position on the motor pulley while in storage and transit. It knocked quite loudly for the first 10 minutes.
To avoid any embarrassment, I now run each machine for 2 spin cycles prior to delivery. That seems enough to settle the belt and the knocking subsides.Hope that helps,
Steve.

ParticipantRe: Candy CMD146 problems, and more problems….
Thanks for the replies; I’ll try anything ATM. These machines are really dreadful, they waste so much time and effort, it rather begs the question, are they worth bothering with? 👿
Cheers,

ParticipantRe: Jackson Canterbury Fan/Grill Replacement
Look inside the front cover where it shows a drawing or black and white photo of the oven. Somewhere on that page it will say one model number for the brown oven and one for the white version.
