ParticipantRe: Philco WD1009SE motor.
Philco WD1009SE . Serial no. PFHS 95130590.
I don’t know the make of motor fitted, but this motor is small with a metal pulley and exposed brushes on a white plastic frame. The brushes are the same as WMA Hotpoint.
Sketchy I know, but that’s all the info I have. Sorry! Using Chris’ part numbers, the same motor comes up for both. The motor is very expensive – Connect want £136 + VAT. 😯Thanks for the help!!!

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint 9920 tub front.
Thanks very much for the help, guys!!! 😀
A 9920 fitted with a plastic tub was strange enough, as I couldn’t find any record of it either. The customer says it hasn’t been modified, but she is elderly and I cannot discount her having forgotten. But I would have thought that the conversion from enamel tub to plastic would have been complicated, if not unworkable.
Don’t know……. 😕 .
I’ve ordered the 1601945 and I’ll get the matching gasket just in case. Cheers for the info!!Steve.

ParticipantRe: diplomat apm8703 washer dryer (servis) no spin
A heater with an earth leak can cause a no spin fault on Servis. Worth checking!! 😉

ParticipantRe: Belling CTH70 – not turning on.
Assuming this is a separate hob mounted on the work surface…..can’t find CTH70 on my system.
This looks like a supply fault. It is possible (and quite common) for the mains cable connection block inside the hob to melt. This would prevent the hob showing any sign of life. This can be a fiddly job and spotting the problem can be tricky as a faulty connection block isn’t always obvious. 😕Power off before investigation. :plug:

ParticipantRe: Belling CTH70 – not turning on.
Is the clock set to “auto?” This will account for the oven being ‘dead’. Check your handbook for the clock setting instructions. If necessary, turn the power off, wait a few minutes and switch on again. Then proceed to set the clock afresh, ensuring it is set to “manual”. 😉
If that doesn’t sort it, post back as we may still be able help.Steve.

ParticipantRe: electra gl2 (italy)
Sounds like a blocked filter to me….. 😉 It may be difficult to pull out, but it is possible with patience. Electra GL2 , Zanussi DL / SL series and Zoppas machines were ultra reliable, durable, simple and cheap to fix – everything the modern day manufacturers have lost sight of.
IIRC, pump, door gasket, inlet valves and door handle are still available today.Steve.

What do you need?
I’ve got this cooker in my kitchen – and I could help you find the problem…….if I knew what it was…. 😉Steve.

ParticipantRe: hotpoint wd63
Quite often there is a small glass fuse on the timer (on the top as you look down on it) that protects the motor. 10A if my memory serves me correctly. Check that first.

ParticipantRe: Elecrolux ESL6115 – Not draining
Before you order anything………
Take the pump off and check it’s not jammed with anything. Fragments of glass, bone and pips can stop the pump giving the impression of failure. If the pump is clear, then it is probably U/S.Power off before any inspection!! :plug:

ParticipantRe: Are you quiet at the moment or is it me?
We are £43.00 a job and range between £48 and £55 for integrated calculated on the ‘hassle factor sliding scale’. Being cheap does not IMO get you more work, quite the opposite. Like Miele that have that certain unspoken ‘quality’ in the public eye due to their market position, by charging bargain basement rates you may in essence be branding yourself as an Indesit. (Hope you see the analogy). No disrespect intended – but it has taken me 12 years of self employment to learn this. 😉 Giving a higher level of service that is not expected by the customer from “today’s tradesmen” (thanks to newspapers and T.V.) you can break the typecast we are tarred with and get the recommendations. The work will duly follow.
Chris is right – all machines are a variation on a theme; the trick is not to panic but be prepared to repair any make. As long as you can source the bits, there is little to stop you.
And if you get in the proverbial, then the UKW guys will help!!!
Been there, got the ‘T’ shirt mate, stick at it, you’ll be fine.:DSteve.

ParticipantRe: Are you quiet at the moment or is it me?
I love integrated machines – the last good earner in the trade. And the one least likely to disappear. 😉
Where else could you fit a PCB to a cheap chinese made Baumatic dishwasher and get paid without complaint? The hassle of replacing an integrated machine is usually too much to bear for most people, so you nearly always get the job. I have a full book until Thursday and working all day Saturday (8 calls).
We will repair any make as long as the spares can be obtained with the exception of Miele. Have to say, we’ve been doing 6 days a week most weeks of this year (so far). Hope it lasts………Steve.
