I’ve meet a few Directors who really don’t like Technicians doin the above off the payments they provide.
In the companies I worked for this was the normal attitude, always was a them and us between service and commercial depts of the company.
I’ve come across this myself. Sub contracted years ago to a medium sized business. They offerred me a comission on new sales that was beneficial to them as well as myself.
After a few months the owner of the business told me he had to reduce the bonus as in his opinion I was earning too much. Nevermind the fact that I was earning him almost double!!
In the end I never sold another machine for him and the bizaare thing was he was happy with that. 😕bagman

It’s not just the mark up on the machine?
I sell quite a few machines, and I make a good kill out of them. Most of my customers know I’m more expensive than the sheds, but the sheds just cannot compete with the quality of the service I provide.

I’ve seen Nigerian 419’ers written better than that.

ParticipantRe: Waste Carriers Licence
If the equipment is donated to you in working order or in a condition where it is not beyond repair, and is given to you in knowledge that you would be refurbishing it for its original purpose, then this is not classed as waste and therefore the WEEE Regulations, and exemption (which falls under the Environmental Permitting Regs 2010), do not apply.
So, does this mean that since every machine I’ve got was donated free of charge and in perfect working order, I don’t need any of the certs?
Good job I’ve got some nice customers then 😉bagman

Over priced and under specced…. only the apple fan boys will buy one.

ParticipantRe: Welcome The Amica Trade Support Forum
A friend of mine has just got some Amica stock in his shop. Had a quick look at them and they’re very similar to the AW23 it seems.
Nice and easy to work on then 🙂bagman

The £950 figure was based on m/c and full delivery/install.Can I clarify… That’s what you charge for an ISE10?
Because if so I think I’m underselling myself.

ParticipantRe: ISE 10 in multi occupancy building.
Just to clarify Ken, It’s two elderly people in thier own home (normal house, nothing built on etc) who take in a couple of disabled adults at weekends in their spare rooms. It’s not a massive house and I dont expect it would get anymore use than a young family with a couple of kids. The disabled adults have learning difficulties from what I can gather so they wouldn’t be allowed to use the machine at all.
Tbh, if they hadn’t have said anything to me I would have thought that it was (as it is) just an ordinary house. There is nothing commercial about it, I think they just wanted to emphasise that they wanted something that would last.

ParticipantRe: ISE 10 in multi occupancy building.
well it turns out that it wasn’t a small nursing home, it was his own house which he runs as a ‘day centre’ at weekends for a couple of disabled kids.
I presume he gets the full 10 years guarantee for that?bagman
ParticipantRe: ISE AW23
Hmm, it’s abit out of my area (Nott’m) but I can deliver one if she’s willing to pay a bit extra for delivery charge (£25 should cover it). It’s more the time than the distance that’s a problem.
Also I don’t have one in stock but I’m sure I could get one within the week.

ParticipantRe: Waste Carriers Licence
It’s outrageous anyway you look at it.
As a trade we’re doing the ‘enviroment’ a favour by recycling machines and we’re penalised for it by the very people who are supposed to be protecting the very same ‘enviroment’.
It’s a stealth tax, nothing more nothing less, they couldn’t give a damn about the real world, they just want our money in order to justify thier own (job) existence.bagman
ParticipantRe: Currys tech guys cleaning service
Have to agree… I don’t mind cleaning up after myself, and often end up leaving places cleaner than I arrived. But that’s taking pride in your work… but if I was ‘told’ to clean something, then I think things would be a little bit different.
