Have just ordered one for a small nursing home, I assume the guarantee is the same?

Had one of these today (3 spin lights flashing and not able to program anything) but on a WAE24162GB/03. Changed the PCB and all was well.

    Re: How?

    Simple maths.
All two digit numbers will always leave a ‘9’ based number when you follow that formula. (That’s one of the reason ‘9’ is considered a ‘magic’ number by a lot of people). After that you just make sure that every number divisable by 9 has the same symbol next to it.

    Re: Thoughts/Advice please

I go to places like this quite often. I always insist that a SW is present if a client is also present. if the client isn’t around then ofc it’s not a problem.

Never had any problems as a result of this and the company are excellent payers. I’d say stick at it, it can be a pita sometimes but the money makes up for it IMO 🙂

I would have a chat with someone and explain the situation, I’m pretty sure they would understand as all they want is the job sorting with minimal fuss.

    Re: Van Insurance Rip Off

Had quite the opposite experience from my insurers.

Neighbours daughter backed into my old berlingo van and put a dent about the size of a football in the side panel. Insurers wrote it off, offered me £1800 and the van back. Nearly bit thier hands off 🙂

Two months later a woman ran into the back off me, slightly damaging the underside. Insurers wrote it off again and offered me £750 this time (as it was technically a write off when it was hit) and the van back again. Bit thier hand off again 🙂

Still driving it now, will get bigger van this year 🙂

Hi boselecta, did you get my PM? If not I’ll send again, I could do with the deactivation routine.

    Thanks in advance.

Thanks, I think that’s one digit different from the current one I read off the diagnosis/configuration display. Hopefully that’s the problem 🙂

Re: Pat testing – training/equipment costs Vs income

Took the course, did the management one as well at the time (they offered it cheap if we took it at the same time, then forgot to charge us for it).

Passed them both, like it’s been said, you have to know your stuff and read the and understand the questions correctly. Some of the answers look identical until you see that just one or two words have been changed, and that alters the whole context of the question.

As for making any money out of it.. not really. Got all the kit, had quite a bit of work lined up and did some of it. Then worked out very quickly that it didn’t really pay enough at all. Have £600 quids worth of pat tester hardly been used 🙁

Still, it’s another string to your bow I suppose. 🙂

    K.

I was in my local parts distributors (trade section) the other week when one of the ‘engineers’ from a different company stood there with a capacitor in his hand, and was asking anybody who walked in if they knew which way around the wires went. 😯

He also happened to have a can of Special Brew in his other hand, stank to high heaven of stale booze and cigarettes, yet still manages to get joe public to pay him for his ‘service’… Go figure!

    No call out charge?

To be honest, if you do free call outs then you have to expect this I’m afraid.

I stopped doing free call outs years ago because of these type of people.

    Re: AW23 metal filings?

Cheers, do I need parts (bolts?). or is it a ‘look and see’ first?

Edit. Have just read the other thread regarding front weights etc. Looks like I’ll have to check out exactly whats needed first.

Ho hum, good job I like travelling 🙂
