ParticipantRe: Hotpoint 6550B top oven door hinges
Hi Chris
That’s the hinges for the glass lid. I need the drop down hinges for the top oven door.
It’s my own appliance! My wife thinks my service is dreadful! She’s waited two weeks already! 😆

I believe that E90 is a communicatoin error. Usually a bad connection between the two boards.

My problem is that I have come up with 081551863 and 081551832 both with the description as top oven inner door for this model. 😕
One site shows 081551864 as a main oven door! :rolls:

If the water is heating then it is either cycling on the 85C stat(s) caused by localised heating (often caused by restricted lower spray arm). or the timer motor is not being turned back on by the control stat(s). You need to establish how hot the water is getting during the heat pauses.
There are two N/O stats in the door, one is 50C the other 65C. These stats supply power to the timer motor when the water reaches the correct temperature.
Other things to check:
Ensure that the water level control is not blocked. Reduced water level will cause the heater to cycle on the 85C stats.
Check that the timer motor is running and that the timer motor gear has not come off the end of the shaft.

MIke. I had the self same thing a week or so ago. Mine was the analogue pressure switch too.
Just a note for anyone following this topic though. A blocked recycling pump can give this error code on some machines. As soon as the recycling pump cuts in, it puts a negative pressure on one of the pressure hoses and gives a conflicting message to the module.

I have used a pattern part from Connect (PMP9004) before now. It’s only about £30.00 trade.

You’re right, when you have done a few it only takes a few seconds with the clamp.
There are several useful tips in this thread. It’s worth another read through.

No… I think the moral of this story is to be vigilant and cross check prices.
I often cross check prices between suppliers but now I check which prefix to use as well.

Jim. This is classic syphoning syndrome.
It’s likely that the drain hose discharges into a sink or standpipe that is too low. The end of the drain hose must be above the level of water in the machine otherwise the water will syphon. It will only happen on the synthetic cycle at this one spot due to the step cooling.
There is a red line printed on the back of the machine as an indication of the minimum drain pipe height.

Jim.
That part keyed as HVR91944064 on Connect is £26.07. Key the same part number without the HVR prefix and it superceded to CAN49001262 (£4.48 or 5+£1.89) 😕

Oh! I make sure the customer pays for the part 😉
There are other sources for this size clip and it has been voiced here before. But they do for me.

Yep.. I stand corrected.
It always amazes me when these heaters fail. It always throws me.
