ParticipantRe: Indesit/Ariston modules… Can they be replaced
Chris… I am actually being serious here.
I really don’t know anything about these modules… and I am sure that there are numerous other engineers out there that are not sure either.
In almost every case I have not worked on the machine if the module is at fault as I was under the impression that there was nothing that can be done without the eprom reader/programmer thingy
I’m feeling a bit daft sending this post now,
but if you don’t ask…

Mike, the black grill that you mention is the pressure switch. It is a rubber membrane with a microswitch behind.
I have seen several leaking where a customer has prodded the holes with a screwdriver. 😯
The whole unit comes out quite easily from underneath. I believe it is on a twist bayonet. You can get access from the front.

Dave. It’s a single element about eight inches across with the terminals on the middle two holes on the fixing plate which is about four inches wide. There is a bar across the front of the element about two inches from the front.
Many thanks

Thanks Bryan. I think that’s the information that I need. I haven’t seen the appliance yet, I am going by what the customer has said over the phone.
I will let you know the outcome.
Thanks Mark for the other info.

I agree with Bryan. Look for a blockage in the float chamber. If it’s ok when you are there and the customer has mentioned that the full tank light is comes on too early, then it’s much more likely to be float chamber problem than a timer fault

What about “oven liners” that are available to keep the oven floor clean? Apparently Lakeland Plastics advertise something in their catalogues.

I have been caught here! Twice!
Remove the left hand side panel and follow the hose from the anti-syphon tank to the pump. You will find a floating blockage in the hose.
I have had a cashew nut shell that floated in the water (and acted as a one way valve) and a piece of plastic from the top of a carton of orange juice.
Good luck

Make sure that one of the basket wheels hasn’t fallen off and is stopping the top basket from going all the way on the runners.

Walnut, I have sent you a copy of the manual for the ff71 range. I think that you will find that the wiring diagrams are the same
