Quick fix here is to ‘borrow’ the adapter from the temp selector until you can get a new one.

Thanks lads.
To be honest I am not sorry that this job has gone!
The customer has driven me mad over this one. The appliance is an absolute pig to get out as the thing has been built in and tiled afterwards. I spent an age getting it out with the customer breathing over my shoulder. Then I spent a further hour or so looking for a temperature sensor that would control the fan.. All to no avail.
The wiring diagram shows no sensor either!
Thanks anyway.

Dave, thanks so much. Once again, how did we manage before UKW?

I have changed two of these recently. One Bosch and one Hotpoint. Both were connected tolow pressure hot fill!
Any significance?

😳
Sorry. Serves me right for assuming without looking up the model number.
Can you transfer the NTC?

To clarify… the Hotpoint heater has an overtemp cutout built into the body of the element. You can’t see it, but it is there… honest!
The cutout on the whirlpool is the bar connected to the external microswitch. Does the same thing only costs a lot more.

ParticipantRe: invoice template
I have a copy of QuarkExpress on my PC which is an excellent desktop publishing program, but any DTP program will do the same thing.
I have created a document to use as an invoice and used the page number as the invoice number (the page number can go anywhere on the page it doesn’t have to be at the bottom). I print out two copies of each invoice [page] on my laser printer and perforate them with a simple perforating guillotine. Staple them together in pads of ten and hey presto.
It’s like having a licence to print £50 notes. You could almost do it in Microsoft Word with the page number inserted in the page header.

Fitted the new module today and it made no difference. I’ve given up on this one. 🙁
I hate being beaten by a machine. 😥
Thanks for your help though

EDITED
Please don’t follow this suggestion. Called back to a recall with a flooded floor after one wash!!!
I fitted a Hotpoint 1602026 element to a Whirlpool only yesterday. If it fits and is of equal or lower wattage then I see no problem in fitting a cheaper alternative.

ParticipantRe: Hpt 9506 stat
The sequence is:
40 degree wash. Mixed fill, soap mix, static heat to 40 then timed wash with no more heat for xxx mins., then rinses etc.
50 degree wash. Ditto to 50 degrees
60 degree wash… Hot fill ,soap mix, static heat to 50 if not hot enough, then timed heat and low agitation wash for xxx minutes. then timed wash with no heat…. then rinses etc
90 degree wash… dotto except longer timed heat with low agitration (27 mins by memory) If the water is too hot then the 83stat kicks in.
Your machine may be overiding the 40/50 stat on hot washes if the hot water is over 50 degrees as it fills with hot water only. So it may not be heating at all!
Look for burned contacts on the timer connector blocks. If the connector looks burned then the problem is inside the timer.
Good luck

ParticipantRe: Hpt 9506 stat
The early timer/module version stops completely on the heat pause and the 40/50 stat restarts the timer motor to advance the timer out of the heat pause when the water reaches the correct temperature.
If it’s stuck on the heat pause with no heat then look for continuity in the heater circuit and the 83 degree stat. [Don’t forget that the economy switch and the pressure switch takes the heater current as well].
If it advances through the heat pause without stopping then it’s the 40/50 stat gone short circuit.

I urgently needed a few days off work, but I knew the Boss would not allow me to take annual leave. I thought that maybe if I acted “CRAZY” then he would tell me to take a few days off. So I hung upside down on the ceiling and made funny noises. My co-worker (who is blonde) asked me what I was doing? I told her that I was pretending to be a light bulb so that the Boss would think I was “CRAZY” and give me a few days off.
A few minutes later the Boss came into the office and asked “What are you doing?” I told him I was a light bulb. He said “You are clearly stressed out. Go home and recuperate for a couple of days”. I jumped down and walked out of the office.
When my co-worker (the blonde) followed me, the Boss asked her “… And where do you think you’re going?”
(You’ll love this..)…
She said, “I’m going home too, I can’t work in the dark

Been there… Done that… Got the blown up module in the van to prove it. 👿
It’s an expensive lesson to learn. Mine turned out to be the dispenser at fault but I was not going to risk another module so the machine got dumped in the end. 🙁
As Martin says, inspect the board for blown components. It’s a small surface mounted transistor/triac thingy that will look as if it’s chipped on one corner. If you follow the track from that component to an edge connector and then trace the wiring it will take you to the faulty component.

ParticipantRe: proline TDC6A heating problem
Please be very carefull when checking live machines. :zap: We always advise that you check for continuity from the plug top rather than testing for mains voltages. :plug:
The timer is the only other component in circuit so I would agree here that the timer is your next step. It’s not very common though, so double check all the stats first! The heater is only in circuit during forward tumbles by the way.

Don’t they call fully integrated machines ‘dissappearing’ ? Is this the same thing.
