Got to be worth putting a capacitor in. The cap may working when tested but when they are loosing charge, getting faulty with a wet load in they can just just hum casing the stat to trip out.

Tottaly agree I am lost without the megger.

When I used to work for manufacturesrs we used to have to use a earth loop tester, the amount of times that thing trips the customers sensitive RCD’s, complete pain in the *rse.

We used to ask the customers before using as it may trip there RCD’s.

Just use a polarity checker now.

Any chance of a quick description of these stats else they are just numbers?. . .

Yes I know what you mean about the list of thermostats in the ‘common refrigerator hints’, they mean nothing without a description next to them.

I use VXO’s for single larder fridges and VT9’s for fridge freezers. Sometimes VT9’s can overice in a single fridge.

    Hi andy,
thanks for replying but the rating label has been cleaned away and when I removed the cooker there are no other labels on it.

Check the pressure switch, have found the wires broken or the switch faulty causing no top spin faults with these.

I recently changed an interlock when it was just clicking like this, when I investigated further turns out the carbon brushes were worn. Replaced them and it worked ok.
    Check for earth leakages.

Just bought in a load of WAA24171, they have a acessible filter and a splitable tub.
Cant see the difference between this model and the supposedly better WAE machines to me.

Probably stating the obvious but have you selected the ‘Half load button’ when drying?, caught me out first time.
