Had exactly this fault on a 1295 earlier this year, ordered a timer from EMW and appliance started heating within minuites on the quick wash.

You should be able to start the appliance without the cap, does the motor start when the drum is forced by hand?

masterpart sell just the stats part no:
MIDL WP66102 , although they cost more than the element!

yes i have had this problem the seals become stretched and do not fit properly. You will need a seal kit. I have never had one sticking out of pump assembly, this could have only happened as not fitted correctly.

Just an idea but I have been to loads of these, they have a very sensitive out of balance load and do exactly this with an out of balance load.
Redistribute the load, try with a full load.
Have you tried spinning it empty.

rear fan =421307756182 works with masterpart but the picture doesnt show the nut and key so may not come with them?.
The Qualtex picture shows the fan and the bolt and key.

Chicken or the egg thing here.
Have replaced the main board only to find the facia board is also required even when there is no visable sign of damage to it.
Also have replaced the facia board to find the main pcb is required.
I would go for the facia board but its a risk at these costs.

The manufacturer that anoys me is Electrolux, they always send there parts 2nd class, even though they charge you full whack
Really agnoying when you have irate customers waiting!
