cant find this as a model ; check timer first . ( often smeg ovens have a door micro that operates the cavity lamp so this may be a seperate issue ? )
other than that, agree probably selector switch …. full model will be handy

8 flashes indicates water level failure .
first and easiest thing to check is the filters – pay particular attention to the fine mesh tubular filter , and even if it looks clean, scrub with plenty of hot water .
in the sump where the filters cover, look for a black plastic grid in the right hand side ; an old toothbrush and plenty more hot water scrubbed on here and it may well give you a new lease of life 😆

It’s just that I had one in a garage this week with similar faults, and it was so cold there was ice formed inside the drum and on the bellows ; my inquisitive mind was curious as to wether the cold is affecting these, as I have had 3 or 4 whirlpool dryers all faulting due to low ambient conditions ( all outside ) and seemingly anything below 5 deg ambient, they wont run .

Not been out to it yet so don’t have model number etc.

had a handful up here last few weeks jim, and apparently the handbook advises customer that if ambient temp is below 5, the unit wont run . hth

you need the sam device to re programme this chris… failing that the correct board has to be purchased ready programmed ( and re programming with sam doesnt always work either )
