Re: AEG 86741>> Fabric softener problem

You will probably need to clean the top of the drawer cavity-usually there will
be some holes which dispense water.

Dont know the specific design of this machine but this problem is universal.
Either water not getting into the chamber or the syphoning of the conditioner being restricted on its way out.

Diluting the conditioner and reducing its viscosity can help say 1:1

Pipe cleaners are ideal for unblocking the holes in the roof of these things!

The AEG may also have a seperate valve to control the water inlet for the conditioner and from memory the design is comparatively complex.

If cleaning doesnt work it may be expensive to fix.

Re: Bosch WFP3300 Fault code F07

If you can check the resistance across the valve with a multimeter this should tell you if the valve has failed.

Prob 200ohms ish for a good one -but compare the working valve.

If the machine works on a cold wash then it is either valve, heater, wiring fault
    or control board.

    Plug out first before investigating……………

You are probably fighting a losing battle if the armature has been damaged.
With an earth short I would have expected your mains to trip though.
Sometimes the internal thermal fuse blows -check your motor connections to see if any are oc.

The comment re live testing is really for all the folk that browse these public forums-you may have lots of experience but many dont

    live testing……then someone can die.

You can eliminate the tacho idea by unplugging the motor?

It does sound like a faulty pcb though…….

Not forgetting Siemens from the same group -some of these have

You can get schematics of your machine on the Bosch support site.

    https://www.bosch-eshop.com/eshop{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}28bD1 … 65L22GB/10

Unfortunately you cannot purchase the element on its own and you have
    to exchange the complete housing.

Part number listed is 498623 at £70

There are quite a few threads with pics and additional info via the search.

I have swapped a couple myself but I would say its not your average DIY
    job.

You will see some screws at each corner and you also need to disengage the
    door springs.

You may find it easier to remove the base completely.

With some care you can just about do the exchange by dropping the base
slightly and using a piece of wood to wedge the two apart whilst performing the keyhole surgery 🙂

You need to release the metal collar that joins the motor to the heater.
I used a jubilee clip as its very difficult to get the original back on.

Take some pics if you decide to have a go -but take care and work SAFELY

you always have the choice of calling an engineer…..

A good machine -I use one myself that I repaired with the same fault.

    As an update…

Ran a 90 degree wash and the machine prefilled, then filled, heated
and then timed out after an hour or so with error code 3.

Glass warmish to the touch,26ohms on the element and good insulation
    with a megger.

Drain motor out and runs ok on test rig I have.

Ran the Hoover test sequence again timed out with error code 3.

no signs of leaks or bad connections anywhere.

    Am I missing anything??

    Thanks in advance!

    Thanks for the reply.

I have checked the pump wiring back to the board and there is continuity
and no signs of water damage.

The pump has been checked and is good.

I am obviously worried that a new board could go pop also-is there anything else I can check to minimise the risk?

    Thanks again

    Re: My old new dishwasher

The noise is most likely the main circulation pump and can happen
    for a variety of reasons.
The two machines are very similar in design but have different part
    numbers for the motors
imho a main motor change is not an average DIY job.

Re: Some advice re Hotpoint DWF61 -thermistor attachment

    Many thanks for your reply!

Will investigate further tomorrow, check resistance etc and also recheck the
    heating element.

From memory the wires were red and black and yes it was at the end of
a small brass coloured angle bracket.

Looks like a smaller version on the NTC/Thermistor in the heater assembly.
Never seen one designed like this before and at the back of my mind
seem to remember a reply in another thread by Penguin45 but couldnt recall the exact function.

I set the machine to run a full cycle and it tripped soon after the prerinse
Maybe its a coincidence my fiddling with this and I have a bigger problem elsewhere.

    Re: Bosch SGS65L22GB – No hot water – Error E1 ?

I cant tell you what the E messages mean but you should be able to check
the heater element for resistance (25ohms ish) which will tell you if it is a hardware
    or control board fault.

You will need to pull the plug out and then remove the top and rhs panel.
The heater is at the back lower right hand side-the two connections are fairly
    obvious.

There are plenty of threads on this topic.

Re: Bosch Washing machine rust already?

The Fd number should be on the rear plate/inside door trim next to/below the
WAE model code it usually begins with 8XXX

This will give the info re manufacturing date etc

Re: Bosch Washing machine rust already?

Without a picture then its hard to judge but if it was me I would look around
in the garage for a bottle of rust eater and some touch up paint.

With the door closed I doubt you will see much?

I doubt the performance of the machine would suffer even long term.

Whats the FD number re age of the machine?

    Re: Bosch SGS45E08GB – Help

Check that the pump impellor flicks round with your finger-sometime it can get stuck with say a bit of sweetcorn or piece of glass.

There should be a reassuring flick every quarter turn or so -if not then the pump is likely duff.
The one way filter is at the back left of the sump -you should see it as a small black (or sometimes white)
line of rubber a couple of cms long -this can be pulled up vertically with a pair of pliers.

If you then disconnect the waste hose that connects to the matrix you can
(with care) blow throw this to clear any blockage back into the sump housing.

From memory the other pipe should have a water level as it syphons over when filling.

Good luck I am sure you will sort it out!

I am sure you will take care and pull the plug out before doing any of this!

    Re: Need some technical help.

Well there is no point messing with the pcb unless you know for sure the element is ok and its relatively simple to check resistance with a multimeter.
Yes the pcb comes out as described -you should take a few pics of the wiring
    if you decide to proceed.
The damage should be obvious if there is any……..
