Two choices really…either the compressor is worn and your thermometer is inaccurate or the thermostat is faulty, so if you can confirm your thermometer is telling you the actual temperature then you will need one of these.

If you have problems tracking it down you could try Kitchen Economy in Cardiff 02920 494299…they seem to know all the variants and equivalents too 😉

The first thing to check would be the heater….look for around 20-25 ohms on your multimeter.

Isolate the machine before doing anything of course :zap:

Re: Siemens “Check Water ” Error doesn’t fit.

I would say the first thing to check is the inlet water flow rate which is different to the pressure of course…you may have sufficient pressure but if a tap isn’t fully on, a hose is kinked (unlikely with a Siemens) or the inlet filter is partially blocked then it will overfill giving the symptoms you describe 😉
Failing that it sounds like a pcb fault but the BSH guys may know more…
    HTH?

    Hi Richard

IIRC there is a cut-in stat at the back on the RHS for the oven that side and another on the LHS for the other one?

    Re: Interference suppression.

I would imagine in the case of a washing machine for example that the cabinet itself would shield a lot of air born transmissions from causing problems to equipment that receives it?

I was once called to look at a microwave that the owners thought might be leaking because of interference on the telly whenever it was running…it turned out to be because the aerial run for the telly went directly behind the microwave cabinet on the worktop!

    Re: Interference suppression.

Don’t forget that the suppressor is there to stop the equipment feeding RF stuff back up the mains supply as well as stopping anything coming in…but anything that is susceptible to interference (such as computers, telly’s, radio etc) will have it’s own suppressor too 😉

    Re: Repairing Hotpoint Spider?

Used to do them on old AEG’s circa 20 years ago…the stated method was to go around the collar with a centre punch to free it (nearly always required a lick of oxy-propane as well), clean off the old loctite (a right pain with emery) then apply new loctite and hope the new collar slid on easily because as soon as you tried ‘persuasion’ it would get bent or dented 😕

…ended up ordering a complete spider usually, it was just a whole lot less aggravation! 😆

Do they have a clutch or is it simply the coupling failed?….I have seen them where the one side of the coupling is split so it looks like everything is rotating but it doesn’t grip the gearbox shaft.

Re: Guides on Rosieres 4040 double oven

IIRC you can take the bottom drawers right out to reveal some holes in the base of the centre partitions, they aren’t quite big enough to get the hinge females through because of the angle you need to slide them in at but the metal is quite soft so stick a big screwdriver through one of the holes and lever it out a bit (you can hammer it back after but in any case it’s totally hidden when the drawers are back in)….then it’s time to go fishing with a bit of wire coat hanger down through the front slots to hook the now inserted new female and pull it up to get the screws in.

As for removing the old ones….undo the screws and let them drop, they will remain hidden on the subframe between the partitions.

Requires a degree of patience. 😉

    Thanks

As far as i’m aware they don’t make drain hoses that long and for a very good reason…your machine simply won’t work with that much hose on it!

Manufacturers are as stingy as ever (Hoover/Candy being a prime example) so they fit a tiddly drain pump that’s just man enough to do the job with the drain hose supplied.

Much more hassle and expense but the only way to do it is to extend the house drain plumbing to get it close to the machine i’m afraid…not what you wanted to hear i expect but it’s the only way to go 😕

I agree it’s extremely high but i imagine it’s because of the general public buying incorrect/un-needed spares from them through their various websites, not that this is a valid excuse of course. There are occasions when we need to return parts such as when a customer changes their mind on a repair and asks us to supply a new machine instead, we would never insist that the customer pays for the spares already ordered in that instance.
It’s something we now take into account when doing an ‘iffy’ order and get the spares from elsewhere.
They certainly would be able to establish who the genuine traders are and offer a low cost returns scheme but then this is Connect we are talking about who seem to rely on market forces and charge what they think they can simply get away with…speaks volumes about what they think about their customers (us) 😉

    Re: Diplomat adp8132

A whole host of faults could potentially cause it, water penetration from door misalignment, loose connections on the pcb itself or another component has let go taking the pcb with it. A good start would be to follow the burnt tracks and see which connections they relate to then follow those to a component and test it 😉
