Re: Bosch Fridge/Freezer, Fridge 2 warm

Yours is definitely not a frost free model in which case defrosting the freezer will not cure the fault.
Does the compressor run all the time? If it does then it’s serious (coolant leak, weak/worn compressor)
If the compressor switches on and off periodically it may be the thermostat which is altogether much easier (and cheaper) to rectify.

    Re: SMEG SUK 80 MFX

First of all you need to ascertain if the commutator (selector switch) is on the way out again….a visual inspection will usually suffice. If it is then the most common cause of failure of these is not the switch itself, it’s usually a poor connection onto it which heats up and damages the plastic body of the switch.
Cure….new switch and replace the connectors on the wires.

If the switch appears ok then its meter time to check for resistance in the grill supply, and correct operation of the oven stat (used as a safety cut-out during grill operation)

If all thats beyond you then its engineer time, but if you’re having a go yourself then you must isolate the appliance before doing anything :zap:

Pity Rob, there are now over a million signatures on this petition, Blair has said he will ignore the petition but quite a number of the Labour MP’s have become quite concerned.

Unfortunately this government seems to rely on the apathy of people to strip more of our civil liberties away year by year, and at the same time take more money from us for Brown to hose away.

Yes Graham, have a look at the dispenser solenoid….well documented on here if you do a search 😉

The wood trim shouldn’t be there Martin, the appliance should fit up to the underneath of the WT (packing underneath the machine if the legs aren’t long enough). The kick panel won’t need cutting then either 😉

yes will have to replace loom

But in the real world yes do use a soldering iron for a perfectly acceptable and reliable repair 😉

Re: Baumatic cooker door no longer staying shut tight

That sounds like it’s bound to end in tears!

I’m not familiar with that particular hinge but most have a built in locking device…have a look at your user manual which will explain how they operate.

If there is no locking mechanism then they can be a pig, there is also a danger of the spring tension releasing suddenly during removal so if this is the case i would strongly advise calling an engineer :lesson:

Re: Baumatic cooker door no longer staying shut tight

The springs are built in to the hinges so you will need to replace both of them.

Have a look in Shop@ and if you can’t find them then an email to Dave_Conway will sort it. You will need to provide all the relevant model/serial numbers to obtain the correct parts.

As far as replacing them goes it is straightforward….door off and disassemble.

In that case perhaps an email to kwatt@ukwhitegoods.co.uk with the post code of the property might help?

The grease is used to lubricate the flanges of the bearing seal…if you didn’t use any then you may get a premature failure of the seal leading to bearing failure again 😯

    Re: Faulty Smeg Dishwasher

There is a right angle bend in that tube which you need to clean around…if that doesn’t do it then it’s engineer time to clean or replace the metering tank as required i’m afraid.
