ParticipantRe: Salty Siemens
Well at least it wasn’t peppered with faults 😆

ParticipantRe: AEG OKO LAVAMAT 1370 – Out of Control!!
Could be a host of things….kinked fill hose, failed inlet valve, failed heater, failed/blocked pump, or indeed a faulty pcb 😕
Time to get your multimeter out, or call for an engineer really….power off if investigating further.

Yes indeed, the only glimmer being if a repairable leak has caused a motor earth fault then a new pcb might be the only part required. We in the trade can sometimes get pcb’s repaired too at a much lower cost that replacement 😉

Could be one or two things….they do suffer from leaks from the dispenser which is cunningly placed directly above the door lock so that it goes bang 😕
If water was forced out of the closed door that might suggest a motor control or draining problem, but in ths case the machine would still show some signs of life.
The first thing is to drain the machine (lower the drain hose into a bucket), then unplug it, check the state of the door lock then get your multimeter out.
If that’s out of your capabilities then it’s engineer time.

Yep, the module’s gone west 😕
You could try Shop@ for a price of the module, straightforward to replace and would sort it.

Did the old lamp rattle and look black when you took it out?

ParticipantRe: Service M3311W washing machine
Logic would say test the motor for an earth fault and look for leaks too.
Power off when investigating! 😉clivejameson
ParticipantRe: Homark Oven User Manual
Hi Claire
If you send an email to Dave Conway dconway@ukwhitegoods.co.uk He may be able to provide a copy but you will need the model number. You will find this on the top of the oven so you will need to slide it out of its housing a few inches to read it 😉clivejameson
ParticipantRe: Aqualux 1200 washer dryer
The cabinet splits into 2 IIRC….is the problem no drum action?

ParticipantRe: Fault F7 Whirlpool AWM 8163 Washing Machine
You may have a motor or motor control problem there. The only way to confirm is with a meter….power off if investigating further 😉

ParticipantRe: Tecnik DW 2677 Error – Light flashing 4 times
IIRC you need to check that the machine has drained correctly…if not then you need to check the filters and the drain line (sometimes they block at the sink waste connection.
If that doesn’t solve it then its probably engineer time.
Have a look at Repairs@ for an engineer local to you?clivejameson

I have tried that same method with an 80w iron but with no success I must admit, a very poor unsafe joint is the result. The other problem being the length of copper wire being a danger, it has to be cut to size to avoid shorting against the casing. Question is, by how much? Sheathing the bare wire is no option as that only restricts its movement.
You just need to keep the iron in contact for longer Martin…in your earlier post you mentioned using fluxless solder but you must use fluxed solder! The technique is to hold the iron in place with a little solder on it’s tip to get a good heat transfer then touch the solder on the plate adjacent to the iron. When the solder begins to flow you know you’re up to temperature.
As to the tag length that’s the easy bit, clip the old brush tight to the spot weld and when it’s out hold the new brush to it and snip its tag to the same length! 😉

ParticipantRe: Whirlpool ADG954/2 D/Wash – door springs
IIRC its not the springs that go, it’s the plastic pieces on the end of the pull tape that break. If they let go in a big way, the pull tapes and guides get damaged too….and they’re different ones each side so prolly worth a looksie first?

ParticipantRe: How do you solder carbons to Bosch motor?
No Martin….solder! You need to get your iron lovely and hot, and hold it to the joint for a few seconds to get enough heat onto the workpiece before you introduce the solder otherwise the tag acts as a wonderful solder mop.
I actually put a tiny blob of solder on the end of the new tag then heat and solder the plate first before just touching the new tag onto it. :lesson:clivejameson
ParticipantRe: How do you solder carbons to Bosch motor?
Easy Martin….snip away the old brush, a quick touch with a file to the remaining piece of the tag on the spot weld to get it bright and hey presto! 😉
