Re: Whirlpool ADG 957 too small

Hi beamer, i’m not aware of any alternative baskets for your machine….your only chance (and it’s a slim one) is to contact whirlpool customer services and see if they can help 😕

Re: Neff U1420B Oven Fan Sticking – HELP. IT’S CHRISTMAS!!!!

Hi Andy, there are no stored electrical charges in the appliance so as long as it is fully isolated (double pole switch in off position, circuit breaker in off position or fuse removed from supply circuit) then there would be no electrical hazard.
As it’s Christmas you’re unlikely to get a replacement motor in time for the big day so your bodge is the next best thing…when you strip the motor again then give the bearings a thorough oiling with a heavy(ish) oil such as three-in-one or even car engine oil. As Martin said it will not give a cure but will hopefully last long enough to incinerate a turkey! 😆

    Hi Paul

If the syphons were blocked then the port underneath the draining end of the syphons is prolly blocked too…if you look underneath you’ll see a small looped hose that appears to come out of the sump and double back into it, that’s where the problem will be 😉

There is a WVF2401GB/01….if you take a look on the Bosch website, the fifth page of the exploded diagram 😉

Nope never had an intermittent pressure switch or timer(not that the timer would cause an overfill?) I have had a split pressure hose that only showed when it was flexed in a particular way 😉

Other than that the valve sounds a good bet, and i have fitted a standard valve before to get out of trouble with no problems 😀

Congrats Ken, yes indeed lightning quick this morning! 😆

You’re prolly aware but i’ll point it out just in case….all replies to a post seem to come up with DEBUG but they still get posted 😉

Just a suggestion….the resurrected posts could be opened for replies as i’m sure the posters will remember the jist of what they said and can then add to the post again?

Re: Blomberg 1301 ABB Post Dissappeared

Hi Goeff….no, not your fault….it seems there was a technical issue last night with the site.

It was i who replied to say that your noisy pump isn’t anything to worry about unduly, it may be wear in the pump bearings which would eventually lead to failure but it may well go months years before that point.

I also went on to say that pumps are always a source of vibration and rely on being firmly screwed to the cabinet to reduce noise so you could just check that it hasn’t come loose, and that nothing else is touching it.

Other than that, i would advise you to live with the noise if it’s bearable, and deal with it if and when the pump gives up altogether.

Yep….those readings are about right 😉

If the thermal fuse is O/C than that’s where your problem lies.

If the raw truth is that nobody – retailer and manufacturer alike – gives a stuff whether your fresh produce rots while they mess you about, then at least I know where I am. However, if I there are people who do give a stuff, then they will have my money, loyalty, recommendation and eternal gratitude.

And therein is the rub…as has been pointed out, if the general public want to buy appliances cheaply then inevitably they won’t get the service they have previously been used to.
Take a look at the big sheds…there you will get the third degree effort to sell you an extended insurance because that is where there biggest profit comes from…and of course as the general public is wising up to this (the poor value of many insurances) more and more people don’t bother which leaves the large retailer with very little profit from the appliance, so it’s no wonder they show little interest in the customer once they leave the shop.
The local independant on the other hand has relatively higher overheads (inevitable on smaller scale operations) which leads to less profit still…and to compete with the big sheds they offer a more personalised and attentive service. All in all this means that the independants prices will tend to be higher, but you get the better service.
Lastly, the internet sheds have so little overheads (no high st. or out-of-town retail sites) can offer a rock bottom price but no customer service as a result.
All in all the old adage still stands i’m afraid…..’you gets what you pays for’

Off me high horse now 😆
