Re: help with cooker repair – Serena Professional 90

your problem may well be with PCB/relay board and not the timer.

if the time has readout but appears to not fuction, it may be ok and its as above.

you need to establish you have voltage at the element terminals when calling for heat on the control thermostat.

THIS IS REALLY A QUALIFIED ENEGINEERS JOB and not a DIY one

    CALL A COOKER SERVICE AGENT

always isolate unit from power supply when removing covers etc

    Re: bosch tumble dryer

Had occasion to re-visit this appliance, i thought i had cured the problem with blocked pipe, unit was working ok when i left on1st visit.

unit now not heating up or infact doing much.other than rotating

what ever programme setting you select…unit runs for 30 to 40 secs and then anti crease/end light comes on.

any advance on this one welcome

    many thanks

Re: FUEL PRICES AROUND THE UK.

here in south leicestershire per litre

supermarkets usual choice – unleaded £0.99.9 diesel £102.9

TEXECO a wopping £105.9 unleaded to £107.9 diesel

on A5 trunk road Texeco £110.9 for diesel per litre = over £5.00 a gallon

contrast this, I have just returned from Tenerife, no road tax to pay

deisel works out at £0.58p per litre

price increase pending me thinks on all service calls

Re: Pattern Heaters: A cautionary tale 🙁

I would rather he did run earth free for a period and meggar again, but no he puts a batch in the oven and raises the tempreture to around 200, if you were ever around when using PYRO in the 60’s/70’s then a similar trick was used to clear moisture prior to making off termination. you run a fag lighter over end of cable to remove dampness, elements are made very similar.

alright you are not getting shiney parts, but when you first switch on the colur changes in any case once fitted.

I hasten to add this is not a regular operation, but they have been caught out so much lately, with earth problems across a wide range of elements.
it does cure the potential fault.

Another problem is the RCD in most installations now ,I now do not leave the counter without megger testing pat elements although you can get a positive reading and when fitted it still pops. So i dont think there is a real solution other than gen all the time.

maybe we should all demand gen or campaign to get rid of pat elements

would we then all be out of business

who by the way makes these cloned items??

Re: Pattern Heaters: A cautionary tale 🙁

just picking up on this thread

require for bosch oven HBN3550gb/02 top ovem element, it retails from BHS at around £70…now what is the alternative ……… cos your looking £100 pus for a simple element change..??? on a cheap oven anyway

having had a few expereinces with patten bosch-neff half circle elements recently,, will now only by gen.

how’s this for a precaution..my local supplier meggers evey pattern element he now recieves and if there is low reading..he bakes them..

    it does do the trick..

but how many suppliers are prepared to buy in gen when the margins are so high on stuff with no country of origin.
