ParticipantRe: Dead Simple bookeeping software?
I’ve used Personal Accountz for years and it’s easy to use cheap and lets you set up as you want it. Ther are a few different versions but so far I’ve just used then personal account one and Mr Accountant does the rest.

ParticipantRe: Whats the most annoying thing customers do?
Had a (once) regular customer send a note in with the cheque I’d waited three weeks for stating she will not use me again for charging her £46 to clean the optical thingy on a Diplo/ Whirlpool dishwasher. The thing she forgot was that I’d agreed to go on a day off as I was on hols the week after and she couldn’t do the other day I had available. I called after 6 as didn’t want to let her down, was a 12 mile round trip ( not including the 35 miles from where I’d been all day. She was upset I hadn’t fitted anything either and still charged the labour??????? Note to self, don’t bother cleaning the bl**~y thing next time replace it to save grief.

Dozy chav last week
Me.Working on basic New World cooker.
‘its your lower element, £85 all in, should be in next Wednesday…….sir’
‘Yep thats fine, you couldn’t do it sooner though?’
‘I can do it on monday but it will be extra to cover the postage, £7’
‘No probs, Monday then ‘ (proceeds to give me deposit money£20 + a fiver to cover postage)
‘So how much will that be in total’
‘£92 ‘
‘Oh, that’s a hundred innit?????’
‘No its £85 which you agreed, plus the postage £7 which you agreed’
‘Do you know where I can get a secondhand cooker’I then got the ‘what you doing???’ as I reconnected the lower oven element so he couldn’t reuse the thing again.
No money out of it (don’t need the agro) but happy I avoided grief for the next two years from all the other chavvy mates by him telling them ‘it was as bad when he left it after he fixed it’.Tony

ParticipantRe: Indesit D/Washer IDL40UKC – no heat
Is there a part number change on the earlier one as Connect don’t recognise the part number. Its a IDL40 UKC and numbers are 605228407 and 643752100000. Peed off with these pieces of crap cos I used to put 12 months guarantee on these and they are failing within the period a bit too often 👿 👿 .

ParticipantRe: Zanussi ZWD12270W motor issue
Motor is 1242123113 in stock at Connect £127.63 she’s looking at over £200 with labour so if it’s a worry about the board (hard to test without another to plug in or having the connection chart to hand) I’d err on the side of caution 😉

ParticipantRe: Bosch SMV53A00gb/03 failed after install
The thought had crossed my mind as the tap is fairly stiff to turn off/on. The machine is fairly slow to fill, but is almost to level when the programme aborts.

ParticipantRe: working on gas cookers information
Er…….does that mean us non gas trained men CAN now work on dual fuel etc. Since reading previous posts on UKW I’ve turned down lots of calls on these in the last couple of years???

Been dead since Yellow Pages put me way down the listings. Now even regulars are saying they couldn’t find my ad 😥 .The rep pointed out that the AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA and …………..doesn’t work anymore and isn’t needed and guess what, all those ads come first. Getting better at the moment at 4 calls a day 😥

Don’t worry thats my job 😀
Getting a nice collection of ntcs’ together for slaving out and just wanted one plug and check this one.
Still convinced the heater tested o/c but I was distracted to say the least.
The board is def at fault but with my poor gigs I’m not testing on a live board 🙁 BUT a new one from Connect is showing at £162.50 😯
plus vat it’s not going to be a viable repair.Tony
